Rebecca Gibney’s son Zachary poised to become Australia’s next big ‘nepo baby’ following his emotional Logies speech
It appears Rebecca Gibney’s son, who has been inducted into the Logies Hall of Fame, is destined for great things.
According to New ideaZachary Bell, 20, could join Australia’s ranks of ‘fake babies’, alongside Robert and Bindi Irwin, Christian Wilkins and Willow Stefanovic.
The call comes after Zachary made headlines earlier this month when he presented Rebecca, 59, with the prestigious Hall of Fame award at the 2024 Logie Awards.
It seems his star status is now on the rise and film industry insiders are ‘doing their utmost to lure the ambitious actor in.’
His Logies speech reportedly aroused the interest of many ‘insiders’.
He is also the son of one of Australia’s most beloved television actresses and renowned production designer Richard Bell, which has put him firmly on the radar.
“Zachary Bell is already firmly on the radar of a number of Australian casting directors given his family’s acting background,” a TV insider told the publication.
The source added that Zachary could be the new face of iconic soaps Neighbours and Home and Away.

‘Don’t be surprised if he starts doing Neighbours or Home and Away soon.’
The term ‘nepo baby’ refers to a person who takes advantage of his or her family connections or privileged background.
Zachary isn’t relying solely on his parents’ reputation to break into the industry, as he is currently in his third year at New Zealand’s premier drama school, Toi Whakaari.
He has also had a number of roles to his name, including an episode of Under The Vines and the series Wanted, both starring his famous mother.

After presenting his mother with the award at the Logies evening, he said in his speech: ‘I feel so lucky to have been raised by someone who has so much love to give and to have been led through life watching her show such kindness to everyone she meets.’
When Rebecca was finally called to the stage, the star of The Dressmaker could barely contain herself from bursting into tears during her emotional speech.
“I’m so overwhelmed. I’m so sorry. My son, oh my god, I was okay until you came out. Thank you so much,” she said, her voice shaking.

Rebecca also responded to Zachary’s kind words during her speech, calling him “ridiculously talented.”
“To my son Zac who continues to bring me the best kind of joy. I am so proud of you,” Rebecca cheered.
“I am so proud of the kind, gentle, ridiculously talented individual that you are. Thank you for teaching me how to be a great mother. I love you more than I can describe.”
