Jermaine Jenas reveals he attended couples therapy with wife Ellie Penfold following explosive rows as he fights to save his marriage following BBC sacking

Jermaine Jenas has revealed that he and wife Ellie Penfold have been undergoing relationship counselling following a series of explosive arguments last year.

The presenter, who has admitted sending inappropriate text messages to women at the BBC, says he “let himself down” by revealing his 13-year marriage is on the rocks.

However, tensions in the relationship appear to have been brewing for some time, after he previously revealed that he and his wife had undergone relationship therapy to work through their issues.

While Jermaine spent more time with his One Show colleagues, Ellie was at home with their children.

He told The sun: It all looked shiny, but to my wife it was like diapers and milk. I am a very active father and I always try to help her, but still she did not get the satisfaction from her own life.’

He opened up about seeking help and said, “It was actually for marital matters. We’ve worked together a bit in the past. But that’s my wife’s business, if I’m honest with you. I’d rather not really get into that.

“We’ve been together for about 15 years now. And it takes work, you know, throughout the process.”
