Jennifer Lopez hinted 8 months ago that she was finished with Ben Affleck when she made a savvy solo move

Eight months ago, Jennifer Lopez hinted that she was done with her husband Ben Affleck.

That was when the 55-year-old beauty signed on for a new film without her husband.

IEven though she worked on several films with Affleck – This Is Me… Now, The Greatest Story Never Told, Unstoppable and Kiss Of the Spider Woman – she made sure he didn’t come on board her project Bob The Builder.

Instead of working with Ben’s company Artists Equity, JLo’s production company Nuyorican Productions will co-produce with ShadowMachine’s Alex Bulkley and Corey Campodonico.

It’s a new film based on the beloved long-running children’s series, reports Term in January.

In the film, Antony Ramos voices the iconic character Roberto, also known as Bob, as he travels to Puerto Rico for a major construction job.

There he discusses issues of importance to the island and delves into the meaning of building. The film celebrates the ‘vibrant and colorful structures of the Latin American countries in the Caribbean and their people’.

The Bob the Builder series ran for 12 seasons, from 1999 to 2011, and made the following catchphrase famous: ‘Can we fix it? Yes, we can!’ – and the character even scored a UK Christmas number one hit in 2000.

Felipe Vargas will write the script for the film. The project is being led by Kevin McKeon, Ivan Sanchez and Arturo Thur De Koós for Mattel and Natalie Haack Flores for Nuyorican.

Other Mattel films in development include Barney, Hot Wheels and Polly Pocket, with the company hoping to emulate the success of the billion-dollar Barbie film.

Lopez has two films planned with Affleck.

Their film Unstoppable about a wrestler will premiere at the Toronto Film Festival on September 6.

Producers have been pushing Ben and Jen to walk the red carpet together, but Page Six claims Jennifer will be attending the event and not Ben.

Next year, Lopez will star in his film Kiss Of The Spider Woman.

Lopez reportedly felt “disappointed and sad” after filing for divorce from Ben Affleck, but she knew it was “time to move on.”

The superstar was engaged to Hollywood actor Ben in the early 2000s and the couple reconciled in 2021, before tying the knot in two ceremonies in 2022. However, the relationship has ended and Jennifer filed for divorce on Tuesday to end the union.

Now, a new report suggests Jennifer has found the time right to move on with her life. A source told PEOPLE: “[She knows] It’s time to move on, for several reasons.

“She’s very disappointed and sad, but Ben hasn’t given her any sign that he wants to continue their marriage. He hasn’t shown any commitment or interest in making their marriage work. It’s gotten to the point where she’s just left to fend for herself.”

The divorce filing came exactly two years after the couple’s extravagant second wedding in Georgia on August 20, 2022. An insider told the publication that the significance of the date was not lost on Jennifer.

They said, ‘She was done waiting and the date she did that says it all… [The divorce filing] gives her control over the process… It’s good she did it…

“She tried really hard to make it work and now she’s sad about it.”

The source stressed that the former couple’s blended family is a priority, adding: “The children are the top priority, as always.”

Jennifer is the mother of 16-year-old twins Max and Emme, together with her ex-husband Marc Anthony. She is also stepmother to Ben and Jennifer Garner’s children: Violet (18), Seraphina (15) and Samuel (12).

The singer/actress wrote an entire album – This Is Me… Now – inspired by the couple’s newfound love affair and even made a film version of it. She even raved about the relationship just months before the official date of their divorce, which is listed as April 26, 2024.

She told the Metro newspaper: ‘I wrote This Is Me… when Ben and I fell in love 20 years ago. As fate would have it, we came back into each other’s lives. And on the 20th anniversary of This Is Me… I announced that I was doing This Is Me… Now.’

“It was inspired by the surreal miracle that had happened. Him coming back into my life and us being reunited in a way that we never expected was the inspiration to even go into the studio.

“The album just poured out of me. It was just something organic and beautiful, but it was definitely inspired by getting this incredible second chance at real, true love.”
