Footballer is FIRED by his club after his wife accused him of ‘choking and suffocating’ her as she ‘feared for her life’ in two violent episodes after he ‘cheated with a Peruvian pop star’
An international footballer has been sacked by his club after his wife accused him of domestic abuse and infidelity to Peruvian pop star Pamela Franco.
Pamela Lopez Solorzano, the wife of Christian Cueva, accused the 32-year-old Peruvian player of “choking” and “strangling” her. She told a TV program that she “feared for her life” and had “suffered for years.”
The former LaLiga midfielder denies being an ‘abuser’ but apologises for ‘what did not happen’.
He admitted that his behaviour was “unforgivable” and that he has a “complex personality”, but begged to be allowed to continue playing at Club Cienciano.
“Following the completion of the internal investigation, footballer Christian Cueva has been definitively expelled from the club,” the Peruvian club said in a statement.

‘This measure has been taken in strict accordance with our values and to maintain the integrity of our institution.
Lopez has filed a complaint with the Lima Supreme Court, requesting “protective measures against her husband for physical and psychological violence.”
The court ordered that a panic button be installed on her phone and that Cueva not be allowed to contact her.
“There were slaps, hair pulling, pushing. The last thing was he was choking me, covering my mouth and nose, choking me by the neck. He was always saying insults and swearing and then coming back remorseful,” she said America Today via Marca.
“I fear for my life. One of those (violent episodes) was when I discovered an infidelity; and another one, a few days before my birthday.
‘For me it was a very complicated decision, very difficult, it took me many years to make it. But I made it for myself, for my children and for all the women who have suffered the same as I have for many years.
“I am subjected to their manipulation. I will continue to file my complaint until the end, for myself and for my children.”
In 2018, she accused Cueva of cheating on her with Peruvian pop star Franco, revealing that they had had a fight about it on a TV show Magaly TV La Firme, via Gale.

“I have been accused of many bad things, flaws that I certainly have and now I am accused of being an abuser when I am not,” Cueva wrote
A video published by Marca allegedly shows Cueva attacking Lopez in an elevator before a man intervenes. Another video shared by Marca is ALS claims that they are depicted fighting.
Cueva is one of the most capped players in Peruvian history, having played 100 times for the national team, including at the 2018 World Cup and four times at the Copa Americas.
On Instagram, he posted a lengthy statement acknowledging his “inexcusable” behavior but denying that he was an “abuser.”
“Violence is unforgivable and my behavior, even if it was not spontaneous but a reaction, is also unforgivable,” he began.
‘I’ve been accused of a lot of bad things, flaws that I definitely have, and now I’m being accused of being an abuser when I’m not.
“I know that I have a complex personality that goes beyond what is visible of me and I will take responsibility for my actions and will continue to do so. That does not mean that I will stop defending myself and trying to get clarification from the authorities about the events that were not reported in the way they happened or that simply did not happen.
‘For all of this, for what happened, for what else happened, and even for what didn’t happen, I apologize.
‘While the truth is sought and found by the competent authorities, I ask you to be allowed to play football. That this opportunity is not taken away from me. Because it is, together with my children, whom I love even more than has been said, what keeps me going.’
