Auburn shooting, Sydney: Driver shot on Mona Street, Body found Duck Creek

An innocent man was shot in the neck after a chaotic night in Sydney’s west, with the gunman later turning the gun on himself.

Police said the violence began when the man fired multiple shots into a house on Antwerp Street in Auburn just before 10 p.m. Tuesday.

After fleeing the scene, the man encountered a 55-year-old man sitting in his car on nearby Mona Street and attempted to get into the vehicle.

The man then fired at the car, hitting the driver in the neck, before fleeing to the banks of Duck Creek, where he tragically turned the gun on himself.

Police found his body just before 2:15 a.m. during a search of the area.
