Moment Ukrainian troops launch devastating attack on Russian hide-out as Zelensky’s men continue incursion into Kursk ‘forcing 122,000 to flee’
Dramatic footage shows the moment Ukrainian troops launch a devastating attack on Russian positions in a village in occupied Kursk.
President Zelensky’s men continue their incursions into Russian territory, seizing hundreds of square kilometers of land, much to the shame of Moscow’s military leadership.
Thousands of troops broke through border defenses in a surprise attack on August 6 and have since seized more territory in two weeks than Russia has in Ukraine in the entire calendar year.
More than 122,000 people have left the region after authorities ordered mass evacuations, according to state news agency TASS.
Paratroopers have been fighting for several days near the village of Mala Loknya, some thirteen kilometres from the border. New video footage shows them bombing Russian shelters. They claim to have done so with German tanks.

The attack left the buildings – which Ukraine says were used as shelters by Putin’s forces – almost completely destroyed
Kiev claims the aim of the campaign is to create a buffer zone to prevent further cross-border attacks by Moscow.
Ukraine is also trying to capture as many prisoners of war as possible to fill an “exchange fund” it hopes will allow it to bring soldiers home in the future.
Earlier this week, The Supreme Commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi, expressed hope of capturing ‘many’ Russian prisoners in Mala Loknya.
Footage has now emerged of his troops’ attack on the settlement after it was released by the Ukrainian airborne command.
“The video shows firing from a BMP ‘Marder’ during assault operations in the village of Mala Loknya, Sudzhansky district, Kursk region,” a statement said.
Germany donated dozens of Marder infantry fighting vehicles to Ukraine last year. Despite their age, they are considered one of the most powerful fighting vehicles on the battlefield due to their quality, armor, guns and weight.
Paratroopers from Polissya used the tanks to launch a “powerful attack” on “well-equipped firing points and fighting positions of the Russian forces,” the statement said.
“The enemy suffered significant losses in personnel, equipment and other material resources,” the report said.

This comes after a bridge along the same river was destroyed in an attack on Friday, with Ukraine claiming responsibility.
Meanwhile, hundreds of miles southeast of Russia’s Rostov region, authorities struggled to extinguish a massive fire in Russia’s southern Rostov region on Tuesday for the third day in a row after an oil depot was hit by Ukrainian drones.
According to Russian state news agencies, the fire at the depot in the city of Proletarsk raged over an area of one hectare.
According to Russian state news agency TASS, 500 firefighters are involved in the operation, 41 of whom have already been hospitalized with injuries, Russian state news agency TASS reported, citing local officials.
The Ukrainian army’s general staff claimed responsibility on Sunday for the attack on the oil depot, which was used to supply the Russian army, describing the attack as a measure “to undermine the military and economic potential of the Russian Federation.”
In recent days, Ukrainian forces have attacked three key bridges over the Sejm River, which were crucial for Putin’s army to move troops.
While the successes in the Kursk region are a huge morale boost for Ukraine, Kiev’s troops in the Donbas region face a bleak situation.
Local residents clear broken glass from their balconies after a Russian bombardment on a residential area in Pokrovsk, Donetsk region, on August 20
Russia is busy capturing the city of Pokrovsk, forcing Ukrainian troops to withdraw and civilians to be evacuated.
The ongoing six-month fighting in Ukraine’s Donetsk region after the capture of Avdiivka has cost Ukraine many troops and tanks.
The Ukrainian defenders have no choice but to withdraw from positions destroyed by Russian artillery, rockets and bombs.
Pokrovsk is one of Ukraine’s main defense strongholds and a key logistical hub in the Donetsk region.
Its capture would jeopardize Ukraine’s defense capabilities and supply routes and bring Russia closer to its stated goal of conquering the entire Donetsk region.
Russia wants control over all parts of Donetsk and neighboring Luhansk, which together form the industrial region of Donbas.
