Pro-Palestine rioters ARRESTED after breaching DNC security fence as police kick out chaotic mob ahead of Joe Biden’s farewell speech
Chicago police have arrested several protesters who breached security zones while attempting to enter the Democratic National Convention.
According to sources on the ground, at least several protesters were arrested as they tried to break through the security fence.
Police intervened after thousands of protesters joined the “March on the DNC” demonstration, forming a block away from the United Center Arena, where President Joe Biden is expected to speak Monday night.
Chaos broke out after protesters tore down the first layer of fencing surrounding the convention site but became trapped between another layer of fencing.
The activists had nowhere to go and were pushed back by the authorities, and several people were arrested.

“Protesters breached a section of fencing along the outer perimeter of the Democratic National Convention near the United Center on August 19,” Chicago police wrote in a statement Monday.
‘Police personnel were immediately on the scene and controlled the situation. At no time was the inner perimeter breached and there was no danger to those protected.’
“The National Special Security Event plan takes a layered approach. Each NSSE plan is unique and involves multiple layers,” the statement continued.
‘One of these redundancies is the external fencing, which was put up to prevent access to the inner enclosure.’
“Chicago police are still on scene and are working to clear the area.”
Police formed lines to eventually drive the protesters out of the park
Protesters breached the DNC’s outer barricade and swarmed the area before being pushed back by authorities.
Chicago police look on as protesters gather during the Democratic National Convention on August 19, 2024 in Chicago, Illinois. Multiple protests are planned during the DNC, which runs August 19-22 at the United Center.
The police action took place after most of the protesters had walked back to the event’s starting point.
The remaining activists – many wearing N-95 face masks, black goggles and other clothing to hide their identities – stayed behind and shouted at the CPD.
Some activists threw debris over the fence where the police were standing; broken wooden handles of signs, water bottles and trash were all thrown down.
A long line of black fences ran through the southern portion of a park a few blocks from the United Center and quickly became the target of protesters’ ire.
By shaking it violently, the activists managed to dislodge parts of it. Through the gaps in the barricade, they climbed into a buffer space about six meters long, in front of another line of fencing.
It was in this in-between space that many pro-Palestine and anti-DNC protesters joined hands and began chanting.
Police responded by quickly dispatching about a hundred people, who then formed a line to disperse the unruly newcomers.
After standing sternly by for several minutes, the officers began slowly approaching the arm-in-arm activists.
Protesters often ran away from police as they closed the streets.

Specialized police with riot gear such as visors forced the activists to leave the park
Shortly after the police took action, the protesters fled, some running away because they were afraid of being arrested or detained.
After protesters were cleared from the DNC security perimeter, police began replacing some of the loose fencing and regrouped.
While some continued to shout at the police, although there were now far fewer of them than before, the police began to surround the remaining protesters in the park and then chase them away.
Eventually, officers began distributing flyers stating that recipients had been “ordered to leave by Chicago Police.”
