Donald Trump says he plans to keep on hurling insults at Kamala Harris after making attacks on her race, intelligence and appearance
Donald Trump says he will continue to attack Kamala Harris’ intelligence agency because he believes she will destroy America if elected.
Trump has sparked outrage with his criticism of the Democrat’s racial identity, appearance and intelligence in the month since the Vice President replaced Joe Biden on the list of candidates.
In an interview ahead of the first night of the Democratic National Convention on Monday, Trump said he hopes the attacks are not “necessary” but that he is trying to save the country.
He said, “I’ve always said what I thought, but I don’t think she’s very good at it. I think she’s going to destroy our country.”
Trump elaborated on the reasoning behind his criticism that he believes Harris is unintelligent.

“I’ve looked at the things she’s said, I’ve looked at the way she’s handled things, I’ve looked at her crazy track record, I’ve looked at her policies, I just don’t think so. I could say she is and that would be very kind,” he said CBS News.
Trump, on the other hand, believes he is the man who can bring intelligence to the White House and protect the American economy.
“I don’t think she’s a very smart person. I think I’m a very smart person and a lot of people say that. I don’t think she’s a very smart person and you know what? Our country needs a very smart person, but I don’t take that as an insult, that’s just a fact.”
The former president has previously attacked Harris’ intelligence, saying at rallies, “She just happens to have a very low IQ.
We don’t need another person with a low IQ.
“She’s horrible, she’s worse than (Biden). I don’t feel sorry for him. He’s a bad guy.”
Trump has increasingly personalized his attacks on the vice president since she replaced Biden in late July.
He said the Democratic presidential candidate “accidentally turned black” during a controversial interview at a black journalists’ association.

“She was always of Indian descent, and she just promoted her Indian heritage. I didn’t know she was black until a couple of years ago, when she happened to become black, and now she wants to be known as black. So I don’t know, is she Indian or is she black?” Trump said.
Harris’s father is Jamaican-American, and she went to a historically black college—Howard University—and wondered why it made sense for her to recently decide to become black. (Her mother is an immigrant to the U.S. from India.)
Trump’s running mate J.D. Vance called Harris a “chameleon” and defended Trump’s earlier comments. “I think he was observing the fundamental reality that Kamala Harris presents herself differently depending on the audience she’s speaking to,” Vance said after Trump’s explosive remarks.
The situation got even stranger this weekend when Trump claimed he was “handsome” than Harris.
Trump, 78, began musing about the recent image of Harris on the cover of Time magazine, whom he previously compared to his wife Melania, during a rally on Saturday in Wilkes Barre.
This time, he noted that the photo resembled classic Hollywood icons Sophia Loren and Elizabeth Taylor. He then went on to take issue with a Wall Street Journal columnist who earlier this month noted that Harris was beautiful.
“I’m much prettier than she is,” Trump said, drawing laughter from the audience. “I’m a prettier person than Kamala.”
His comments Saturday came as Democrats prepare for their four-day national convention which kicks off Monday in Chicago and the party welcomes Harris as their nominee.

Her replacement of Biden less than four months before the November election has reinvigorated the Democrats and their coalition. It has also presented a new challenge to Trump.
Trump’s victory seemed all but assured after he narrowly survived an assassination attempt in June. But the former president has seen his campaign stalled by a series of gaffes since Harris was named the Democratic presidential nominee.
The former president plans to flood the airwaves with rallies, press conferences and campaign events in a massive effort to thwart the DNC.
Trump will hold events in key swing states every day this week, and his running mate Sen. J.D. Vance also plans to hold events in swing states on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday — culminating in a rally on Friday.
Meanwhile, Trump’s allies will hold press conferences each day of the convention at the Trump Hotel in Chicago, Illinois.
Republican alternates coming to town for the convention include Sens. Rick Scott (Fla.) and Ron Johnson (Wisc.) and Reps. Byron Donalds and Mike Waltz of Florida. Thursday’s news conference will feature a “surprise special guest.”
The first presidential debate between the two will take place on September 10 in Philadelphia and will be moderated by ABC News.
The first vice presidential debate between Democratic Governor Tim Walz of Minnesota and Republican Senator J.D. Vance of Ohio will take place on October 1 in New York City and will be hosted by CBS.
