Pedestrian fighting for life after being struck down by a hit-and-run driver in Adelaide

A man is still alive after being hit by a car.

The 50-year-old pedestrian from Bowden in Adelaide’s north was hit by a car on Hawker Street just before 8pm on Monday evening.

The man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and remains in critical condition as of Tuesday morning.

The driver of the vehicle is said to have left the scene of the accident before police arrived.

Major Crash investigators have examined the crash site.

Hawker Street was closed between Drayton Street and Gibson Street, but has now reopened.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has other information that could assist investigators is asked to contact Crime Stoppers.
