Taylor Swift breaks silence after Donald Trump shares AI generated images claiming singer is endorsing him for 2024 election

Taylor Swift has responded to Donald Trump’s apparent acceptance of her “support” in his White House race, with insiders saying she believes the Republican has “lost it.”

The 78-year-old presidential candidate shared AI-generated messages on his social media platform Truth Social on Sunday night, showing he has gained the support of the 34-year-old Grammy winner and her fans, known as “Swifties.”

Trump wrote, “I accept,” alongside deepfake images of women wearing shirts that read “Swifties For Trump,” as well as a poster of the singer dressed as Uncle Sam, urging her fans to vote for the Republican candidate.

While she has yet to publicly endorse any candidate ahead of this year’s election, a source close to Swift unsurprisingly confirmed that she will not be supporting Trump.

“If she didn’t support him last time, she won’t support him this time,” they told DailyMail.com exclusively. “He’s clearly lost his way. In more ways than one.”

It is unclear whether Trump was referring to the AI-generated group “Swifties” or Swift’s fake endorsement.

According to Wisconsin Right Now, two of the photos in Trump’s post are legitimate.

Jenna Piwowarczyk, a 19-year-old Trump supporter who is also a fan of the singer, reportedly wore a “Swifties for Trump” T-shirt at a campaign rally in Wisconsin.

However, it does not appear that there is actually a large “Swifties for Trump” following, as evidenced by the AI-generated photos, which were clearly labeled “satire.”

Trump later doubled down on the claim that he had Swifties’ support, sharing a video of an apparent MAGA fan saying that the “Swifties woke up” after a failed terror plot resulted in the cancellation of the Austrian leg of the Eras Tour. It is unclear whether the video is authentic.

Swift has previously criticized the GOP candidate and vowed to “vote” [him] ‘out’ of the 2020 election after being ‘completely surprised’ by his 2016 victory.

Before Swift defeated Hillary Clinton, she kept her political affiliations secret, leading some to suspect she was secretly a Republican.

But during the 2018 midterm elections, she threw her strong support behind Tennessee Democrats, including Senate candidate Phil Bredesen and House candidate Jim Cooper.

She explains in a post on Instagram: ‘I used to be reluctant to publicly express my political views, but due to various events in my life and in the world over the past two years, I now feel very differently about that.

“I have always voted based on the candidate who will protect and fight for the human rights that I believe we all have a right to in this country.”

In 2020, the Blank Space singer expressed his full support for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

“I will proudly vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in this year’s presidential election,” she said. “Under their leadership, I believe America has a chance to begin the healing process it so desperately needs,” she said in an interview with V Magazine ahead of the election.

She also tagged Trump in an X-post where she railed against him: “After fanning the fires of white supremacy and racism your entire presidency, you dare feign moral superiority before threatening violence? ‘When the looting starts, the shooting starts’??? We’re voting you out in November.”

In her 2020 documentary Miss Americana, Swift further elaborated on her decision to speak publicly about politics: “I have to be on the right side of history.”

Swift is a staunch ally of the LGBTQ community. She also criticized the United States Supreme Court after it overturned Roe v Wade, ending the constitutional right to abortion in 2022.

The Anti-Hero singer is believed to be among the Hollywood stars who could appear at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago this week, CNN reported, with rumors swirling that she could also perform.

The Swifties have mobilized to show their support for Vice President Kamala Harris through the account ‘@Swifties4Kamala’ X, which already has 60,000 followers.

The Democratic National Committee has apparently already paid tribute to Swift by announcing stations where DNC attendees can make friendship bracelets, which Swifties will exchange at concerts and fan gatherings.

The New York Times reported earlier this year that Joe Biden’s campaign was actively seeking Swift’s endorsement.

Trump has previously questioned whether Swift is a “legitimate liberal” or whether it’s all a sham.

The former president discussed the megastar in an interview with Variety co-editor-in-chief Ramin Setoodeh for his book Apprentice in Wonderland: How Donald Trump and Mark Burnett Took America Through the Looking Glass, which was released in June.

“She’s a liberal, or is that just an act?” Trump asked. “She’s a legitimate liberal? It’s not an act?”

He added: “It amazes me that a country star can be successful while being a liberal.”
