Andy Murray celebrated the end of his illustrious career with a party at his £5million mansion in Surrey.

Wimbledon icon Tim Henman is said to have joined the Scot at the residence, where he lives with his wife Kim and their four children.

The news comes just two weeks after Murray’s glittering career came to an end after he and Dan Evans were knocked out in the quarter-finals of the doubles event in Paris.

The two-time Wimbledon champion made the announcement via social media in July, when he arrived in the French capital for the Games.

Despite fans’ regret at not being able to see him play anymore, the British tennis legend is enjoying his retirement with a party at his £5million mansion, according to Emphatic.

British stars Murray and Evans were knocked out of the Olympic Games after their defeat to American duo Tommy Paul and Taylor Fritz at Roland Garros.

However, after their stunning performances and sensational comeback victories that took them to the quarter-finals, many fans doubted whether Murray regretted his decision.

However, it appears that the tennis icon is enjoying his well-deserved retirement.

Tim Henman, one of the few invited guests, confirmed in an interview with Express that the athlete is happy now that he can hang up his racket.

“I saw him on Friday. He had a sort of going-away party for about 30 people at his house, with Kim and his family,”

“He was in great shape there and I think he realises that this is absolutely the right time to retire.

“He has overcome so many physical challenges over the years and hopefully now there is time for him to reflect on the phenomenal career he has had, the achievements and tournaments he has won, and everything that goes with it.

Murray has been struggling with injuries for years, particularly hip and ankle problems, and these injuries are one of the main reasons for his decision to retire from professional tennis.

Despite competing with Evans at the Olympics to secure a medal, he withdrew from the Wimbledon singles event due to physical problems.
