Urgent recall for popular chicken nuggets and tenders brand Perdue
An urgent recall has been issued for frozen chicken nuggets and chicken strips which may contain metal.
Perdue Foods LLC has warned that approximately 167,000 pounds of the produce could be contaminated nationwide.
The warning comes after consumers complained about metal wire in the product and notified the Food Safety and Inspection Service.

The affected products were produced on March 23, 2024. The following products are being recalled:
22-oz. (1.38-lbs.) vacuum-packed plastic containers containing ‘PERDUE Simply Smart ORGANICS Breaded CHICKEN BREAST NUGGETS’ with the best before date ’03 23 25′ on the back of the package.
29-oz. (1.81-lbs.) vacuum-sealed plastic containers containing ‘PERDUE CHICKEN BREAST TENDERS’ with the best before date ’03 23 25′ on the back of the package.
Vacuum packs of 650 grams (0.66 kg) with ‘BUTCHERBOX Organic Chicken Breast Nuggets’ with the best before date ’03 23 25′ on the back of the packaging.

Each has the number ‘P-33944’ on the back of the packaging. Consumers may have purchased them in supermarkets or online.
“We determined that it was a very thin strand of metal that had inadvertently entered the manufacturing process,” Jeff Shaw, senior vice president of food safety and quality at Perdue, said in a press release.
‘As a precaution, we have decided to voluntarily recall all packaging of these products.’
There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions in people who have eaten the nuggets or tenders.
