Radio host Kyle Sandilands reveals the drug danger for stars at the Logies: ‘There is no worse feeling’

Radio presenter Kyle Sandilands has warned celebrities about drug use ahead of Sunday’s 2024 Logie Awards.

Shock jock and co-host Jackie O Henderson was speaking to Logies presenter Sam Pang on his Kyle and Jackie O Show on Friday when Kyle admitted to making a disappointing drug blunder.

His warning concerned the confusion of a saddie, a colloquial term for a sealable bag used to store drugs, with the small pouches containing spare buttons often found in suit pockets.

Kyle said the mistake could only lead to disappointment for awards attendees.

“I have a little bit of sadness left and then you take it out at night and you’re like, ‘Oh, it’s all gone,’” Kyle began.

“You grab your villain and it’s the bloody bag with the button in it from your suit.”

“There is no more disappointing look on the face of a man who thinks he is carrying a sad little bag when it is a button bag,” he added.

Sam replied that Kyle’s board game wasn’t quite to his liking.

“Amateur hour from you, Kyle,” he said.

“You have suits, just let them take them off,” Sam added after Kyle admitted it wasn’t a mistake he’d made in a while.

“Yeah, you’re right. Problem solved,” Kyle concluded.

The confession follows Kyle’s statement on Thursday that he had been drunk for the first time in a decade and that it had an effect on his two-year-old son Otto.

A clip shared to Kyle and Jackie O’s Instagram account on Thursday showed a cheerful Kyle dancing around his living room in front of the toddler.

In the footage, Kyle sang both parts of the iconic hit Islands In The Stream by Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton.

To fully immerse himself in the character of Dolly, Kyle wrapped his wife Tegan Kynaston’s black fur coat around his head to simulate Dolly’s voluminous locks.

Otto, meanwhile, although he initially got into the mood, could only stare in amazement at his father as he hopped around the room, before running away.

Jackie O, 49, commented on Kyle’s drunken performance and asked Kyle how long he had been sober.

“How long has it been since you were a little drunk?” Jackie asked.

“Probably more than ten years,” Kyle replied.

Kyle admitted he didn’t even have a drink at his April 2023 wedding to Teagan, 38.

Newscaster Brooklyn Ross then gave his own assessment of the performance.

“You see the look on Otto’s face,” he said. “It’s like when you realize your father just isn’t the man you thought he was.”
