Premier League star suffers horror injury 10 minutes into opening game of season
Saturday’s Premier League match between Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth was delayed for seven minutes after Danilo suffered a serious injury.
Forest’s Brazilian midfielder challenged Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo for a high ball in the centre circle but landed awkwardly on his left leg, putting his leg in an unnatural position.
Referee Michael Oliver immediately saw the seriousness of the injury and the match was stopped while medical staff rushed onto the field.
While Danilo was being treated on the field, members of the intervention team formed a barrier around him.
After this was removed, fans and players were relieved to see Danilo give the medical staff a thumbs up shortly before leaving the City Ground on a stretcher.
More to come.
