Walloon, Ipswich: Man dead and two police officers injured after explosion at home

A man has been killed and two police officers injured in an explosion at a house near Brisbane.

A loud bang was heard at around 9pm on Thursday evening before neighbours found the house in Walloon, Ipswich, on fire. Brisbane Times reported.

A man could be heard screaming inside, but residents were unable to enter the building.

Firefighters were able to rescue the man from the flames, but he died at the scene.

Two police officers were taken to hospital for smoke inhalation.

Two dogs that were stuck in a parked car in the driveway have been freed.

The police and fire department are investigating the cause of the fire.
