Manchester City have agreed a transfer fee of around £1.5million with West Ham in compensation for 19-year-old striker Divin Mubama, whose contract is expiring.
Mubama was originally set to sign for Portuguese side Famalicao, but City made the switch.
The 19-year-old striker is a free agent after his contract with West Ham expired, but the club are still entitled to a training fee after managing the teenager’s career since the age of eight.
The England Under-20 international was a frustrated figure at West Ham, where he made 12 appearances last season, but was mainly deployed from the bench and as a reserve to the attackers.
He was offered new terms but wanted to continue his career elsewhere and had set his sights on playing abroad until the Premier League champions made their move.

Pep Guardiola wants to replace Julian Alvarez, who left City for Atletico Madrid this week
City are looking to strengthen their attacking position after Julian Alvarez moved to Atletico Madrid and Oscar Bobb was sidelined with a broken leg.
Mubama is seen as a player for the future and could initially play in the squad, but he could also play regularly on loan in the future.
The former Hammer made 12 appearances for the East London club in all competitions, with just five of those coming in the Premier League.
Meanwhile, Aston Villa have signed 19-year-old midfielder Kane Taylor from Manchester City.
The teenager has never played for the first team at the Etihad Stadium but has made one international appearance for England Under-19s.
