Kahleah Copper trolls Chicago Sky by arriving in her old JERSEY for the team – before sinking them with 29pts for Mercury in phenomenal display

Kahleah Copper, fresh off a dominant performance in the gold medal battle at the Olympics, surprised the Chicago Sky by donning her old uniform for Thursday’s match against her old team.

The now-Phoenix Mercury star confirmed the trash talk by scoring 29 points in her new team’s 85-65 win over the Chicago Sky.

This was Copper’s first time playing in Chicago since transferring to Phoenix.

Brittney Griner and Diana Taurasi also played for Team USA and started for the Mercury on Thursday night, both scoring in double figures.

Copper is in her first year with the Mercury after being traded in a deal that saw the third overall pick in this year’s WNBA Draft go to Chicago.

The Sky used the pick to draft Kamilla Cardoso out of South Carolina. Angel Reese was selected four picks later.

Copper shone for Team USA at the Olympics, with a stirring performance in the Olympic final against France.

Copper has 12 points as a substitute, several of which came in a crucial period in the fourth quarter.

Copper turns 30 later this month, giving her a great opportunity to be part of Team USA at the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.

Despite her flashy arrival outfit, Copper holds no grudge against the Windy City.

“Chicago, I love you all,” Copper texted X after the game ended.

Cooper will make two more appearances in the Sky this season, including a return trip to Chicago on September 15.
