‘Am I Racist?’ star Matt Walsh takes drastic measures after being busted sneaking into a ‘Grieving White Privilege’ workshop for new documentary

Anti-woke pundit Matt Walsh may have become too famous for his own good.

In a hilarious clip from his new film, viewers see Walsh realize that he’s too easy to spot these days.

He shared it exclusively with The Mail. It comes from his upcoming release Am I Racist?, in which he mocks racial justice activists.

He had secretly joined a support group called “Grieving White Privilege, Anti-racist Allyship Training” posing as Steven.

But he made the mistake of wearing his signature clothes: a checked shirt, a thick beard and a quiff.

During the session, one workshop participant realized that he had Walsh, one of the most important voices on the American right, in his midst.

The atmosphere quickly became uncomfortable and grim.

But the cameras kept rolling.

“I want to know that my physical safety, yours, and everyone else here is in order,” a woman present said, her voice trembling.

Breeshia Wade, the black woman leading the group of white attendees, urged Walsh to leave.

Eventually, the members called the police and Walsh had to end his recordings.

But not before the 38-year-old made some jokes about the anti-racism conference.

“Is it because I said I have 17 black friends?” Walsh asked.

“There could be fifteen of them. It depends on how you count them.”

Before leaving the room, Walsh suggested he needed a “better disguise.”

In an email exchange with The Mail, Walsh continued to joke about the incident.

“I wanted to face my white skin color, and then they called the police,” the filmmaker joked.

“That doesn’t seem like a safe place to me.”

Walsh was likely recognized for his successful 2022 documentary about radical transgender ideas, called What Is a Woman?

In the past, he could easily go undercover.

Not anymore.

The anti-transgender film and the Daily Wire show of the same name made Walsh a minor celebrity, with 2.9 million followers on X and praise from the platform’s owner, Elon Musk.

Fortunately, Walsh had plenty of examples of liberal clothing to draw from.

He recalled a tense interview with Patrick Grzanka, a gender expert from the University of Tennessee.

Walsh decided to emulate Grzanka’s outfit: a tweed jacket, skinny jeans and a blue shirt.

To top it all off, he wore a bun – the ultimate symbol of liberal metrosexuality.

In the rest of the 1 hour and 41 minute long racism film, Walsh goes undercover as a liberal with a ponytail.

He plays the role of a bumbling, novice diversity advisor who spouts off all sorts of buzzwords about racial justice.

He crashes the private progressive dining club Race2Dinner, where white female guests pay thousands of dollars to have co-founders Regina Jackson and Saira Rao lecture on white supremacy.

He also speaks with Robin DiAngelo, the leading anti-racism scholar and the one who coined the term “white fragility.”

The film expresses disdain for the massive diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) industry that emerged after the police killing of George Floyd, an unarmed black man, in Minneapolis in 2020.

Advocates of DEI say it opens up more women and minorities to jobs and training that have long been difficult for them to access.

But Walsh and others criticize a woke way of pigeonholing that ultimately leads to the elimination of opportunities for straight, white men.

Meanwhile, they say, DEI consultants are happily earning six-figure salaries by teaching absurd workshops on microaggressions.

“Everything about this film exposes the ‘anti-racism’ movement as one big scam,” Walsh said.

The clip, shared exclusively with The Mail, is “just the beginning,” he added.

“People will be shocked when they see the rest.”

The film marks The Daily Wire’s first independently produced theatrical release.

The company’s co-CEO, Jeremy Boreing, said he wanted it to reach “every corner of America, not just the core audience of The Daily Wire or political conservatives.”

“DEI is the next pillar of the woke mind virus that is about to fall,” he added.

The film will be in theaters from September 13.
