Gold Coast influencer Ashy Bines reveals devastating news after brain surgery on aneurysm: ‘I can’t count how many times I’ve cried’

Gold Coast influencer Ashy Bines was left devastated after undergoing brain surgery to remove an aneurysm, only to have doctors announce they had found a second aneurysm.

The 35-year-old mother of two was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm in March when she was rushed to hospital after suddenly losing her vision. The operation was due to take place in July but was postponed until August.

Ashy revealed in a video posted to Instagram on Wednesday that surgeons removed the first aneurysm, but discovered a second one they couldn’t remove.

“I had my surgery and it went really well. However, when I woke up, they gave me the news that they had actually found and discovered another aneurysm,” she told her followers in an emotional clip that shows her lying in a hospital bed after surgery.

‘They treated the first one today, but they couldn’t treat the second one. I’ll probably have to have another operation before the end of the year.

‘I can’t count how many times I cried because I was completely devastated, but I just have to be strong and know that I can do hard things and get through this.

“I’m so grateful that they found both aneurysms and that I can have surgery because obviously they can be fatal.”

Ashy went on to say that the recovery from her brain surgery was much harder than she expected, and she has now been awake for 28 hours straight.

According to the Mayo ClinicA brain aneurysm is a bulge in the wall of an artery that fills with blood and, if it ruptures, can cause a fatal stroke.

Brain aneurysms are common and often cause no symptoms. However, they can quickly become life-threatening if they rupture and are not treated promptly.

Three months ago, Ashy told her fans she had suffered a brain aneurysm after losing her vision and being taken to hospital.

At the time, she posted a video of her arrival with her family and wrote some alarming words: ‘I have lost my sight three times in the past week. I decided to go to a doctor because we were starting to get worried.

“I had a CT scan, they found a small aneurysm. It was pretty scary because my husband Steve had a big one removed and I have this in my family. I lost a young uncle and a grandmother to aneurysms.”

Ashy said she had the full support of Steve and their children Taj and Tala, who both visited her in hospital.
