To the side, other bystanders could be seen grabbing some cement blocks that had fallen from the wall and using them to smash the motorcycle.
After nearly two and a half minutes, the beating stopped. A man approached the suspect and held him by the shoulder to make sure he didn’t try to run away again.

The incident came just two weeks after residents of Bogotá’s northeastern La Castellana neighborhood took action and stopped a thief.
The suspect tried to flee on a motorcycle after robbing a person on the street.
The perpetrator was pushed to the ground and his pants were ripped off, while several bystanders took turns kicking and punching him, while others in the background urged him to stop committing crimes and get a job.
While residents waited for the police to arrive, others took matters into their own hands and set the suspect’s motorcycle on fire.
