Buddy and Jesinta Franklin struggle to sell $9million Gold Coast mansion after two months on the market

AFL star Buddy Franklin and his influential wife Jesinta are trying to sell their sprawling Gold Coast mansion known as ‘Villa Casa’.

The luxurious seven-bedroom, eight-bathroom Mediterranean-style apartment has been on the market for some time since it was sold at auction two months ago.

The Reedy Creek complex was purchased in 2022 for $8.75 million. It spans a whopping 1096 square meters and offers spectacular views of the nearby coastline.

The celebrity couple are still looking for a buyer after announcing they were selling their home to try out “farm life,” the Courier post on tuesday.

Meanwhile, real estate agents involved in the sale are keeping mum about negotiations with potential buyers.

Situated on a hillside approximately 10 miles from the Gold Coast CBD, this multi-level resort-style home features spacious grounds and two separate residences.

The two-story main house features a junk room, media room and private living room.

There is also a large swimming pool and an entertainment deck with adjoining ‘pavilion’.

Gold has been used for the lamps and taps, which adds a touch of elegance.

The luxury kitchen is equipped with a cooking island made of dolomite marble.

A second two-bedroom house on the estate serves as a ‘guest house’ and has two well-appointed bathrooms.

Buddy, 37, and Jesinta, 32, broke the price record for a home in the scenic backcountry two years ago when they bought the mansion.

The grand estate, designed by award-winning architect Reece Keil, attracted huge interest when it first hit the market in 2022, becoming the most viewed property on Realestate.com.au at the time.

Franklin’s decision to sell follows reports that they are considering a move to the countryside.

Jesinta had been suffering from itchy feet for some time, having swapped Sydney for the Gold Coast after her footballer husband Buddy retired from the AFL in 2023.

Just a year and a half later, the model has her sights set on green pastures.

“We’re thinking about selling and buying a farm now, so yeah, we’ll see how it goes,” Jesinta recently told The Morning Show.

While she said: ‘We love it. We absolutely love it’ when it comes to the Gold Coast, the mother of two would love to head to the bush.

“That might be the next thing we talk about next time I’m here. We just love the idea of being out on the land, growing our own food, having horses, a couple of Highland cows, we’d love that,” she said.

Jesinta enjoys her alone time with her husband and children, daughter Tullulah, three, and son Rocky, two.

“We spend so much time together and always watch the Swannies and Hawks games,” Jesinta said.

The pair sold their luxury apartment in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs for $5 million to complete their move to the Gold Coast.

The power couple purchased the prestigious property, located in The Carlisle apartment complex, in 2020 for $5 million.
