Young Aussie TikTokker Carla Efstratiou says what many are too afraid to say about Australian break dancer Raygun’s Paris Olympics performance

An Australian TikTokker went viral with her angry attack on Australian Olympic breakdancer Rachael Gunn, who scored zero points in Paris.

Gunn, 36, better known as Raygun, lost all three of her round-robin bouts during the Games by a combined score of 54-0, prompting many to express their condolences.

But not the provocative Carla Efstratiou, who calls herself “a girl with the opinions of a 65-year-old white man.”

“I don’t feel sorry for Raygun, that Australian breakdancer everyone laughs at,” Efstratiou wrote on her gowokegobrokeaus channel.

Conservative vlogger Raygun then attacked him for going to university and living in Sydney’s trendy west.

‘Raygun and her Newtown, college-type friends have all come out and said, “How dare you laugh at her. How dare you laugh at this woman who has really tried her best.”

“Even the prime minister said she did her best,” she added.

However, Efstratiou has had enough and asks himself: ‘Are we all living in delusional land?’ and believes that Raygun should not have participated in Paris.

“This woman went to the Olympics with a ridiculous routine, where people train their whole lives and dedicate their entire existence for four years to perform on this stage.

“And then she goes into a poorly prepared routine that literally earned her a zero because it was so bad,” she said.

The influencer also questioned whether Raygun was really as enthusiastic about breakdancing (which was called ‘breaking’ at the Olympics) as she claimed.

‘If she’s as into the breakdancing community as she suggests, she would have known that routine was a joke. And she wouldn’t have gone to the Olympics with it.

“If she really loved breakdancing and took it so seriously and wanted the world to take it seriously, she wouldn’t just go out and perform and receive so much criticism and ridicule,” she said.

Efstratiou then returned to her criticism of highly educated people who look down on others.

‘That’s the problem with these college types. They’re so narcissistic that they think they can go out on the world stage and pull a prank and people will still appreciate them for it.

‘No, that’s not how it works in a meritocracy like the Olympics. If you’re going to give the world a joke of a performance and a routine, don’t complain when people laugh.’

The popular TikTokker then fantasized about what it would be like if she herself competed in the Olympic Games, in two different 100-meter events: one on land and the other in the water.

‘If I dared to run the 100m sprint, I would finish last with a five-minute lead. And I have to, because I am not a professional athlete.

‘I don’t train every day like these professional athletes. And people would laugh at me.

“I would be Eddie the Eel in whatever race I entered at the Olympics,” she said, referring to Eric Moussambani, the Equatorial Guinea swimmer who swam the slowest 100 meters ever at the 2000 Games in Sydney.

Efstratiou said that if she competed in the Olympics, people would laugh at her because I wouldn’t be allowed to be there.

“Same goes for this chick (Raygun). How arrogant do you have to be to go to the Olympics completely unprepared? It’s an insult to the institution.

‘Imagine if I competed, swam the 100 meters, finished dead last by a distance and then cried because people laughed at me and showed the footage over and over again.’

The reactions to Efstratiou’s opinion under her TikTok video were mixed. The video has been viewed almost 100,000 times in less than 12 hours and has received almost a thousand comments.

“You had me when I said ‘I don’t feel sorry for Raygun,'” one person wrote, while another said: “The joke was unstoppable when I was at the Games – Raygun was the ultimate punchline.”

A third wrote that they were ‘here for the Raygun hate because it’s one thing to dance badly… But to pretend it’s something innovative and protected is completely bizarre. Even the judges are apologising!!’

But others defended the breakdance battler.

“It’s all about people taking the time to make this video. Well done Raygun… lets have a bit more fun in life… great that Australia is supporting you,” one person said.

Another wrote that ‘Raygun won breakdancing per capita. Just like Australia won medal count per capita. Take that America!!!’

But most agreed with Efstratiou. One commenter spoke for many when he said that “she single-handedly made breakdancing a one-and-done activity.” By that, he meant that this was the first and possibly last time breakdancing was included in the Olympics.
