The problems come as many Americans start their workday and can no longer send emails, search for content or watch videos to kill time.
However, users in the UK are experiencing the most impact from the outage, with more than 11,000 reports received by DownDetector.
In the US, 57 percent of the problem is due to search, 32 percent to the website, and 11 percent cite Google Drive.
Users are flocking to X to vent their frustrations about Google’s problems and to see if others are experiencing the same issues.
X user Barry Bureau posted: ‘The terrifying thing about Google being down for 20 minutes is that the entire human race had to rely on its own knowledge for those 20 minutes. It’s incredible that we survived.’
DownDetector’s trouble map shows what problems exist in Los Angeles and New York City, as well as Boston and Chicago.
