Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds enjoy a date night after It Ends With Us London screening – as actress speaks on going head to head with husband at the box office: ‘F*** that movie’

Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds enjoyed a night out after attending a screening of It Ends With Us. The actress joked about their competitors at the theaters.

The 36-year-old Gossip Girl star is currently on tour for the press conference for the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s novel of the same name, while Ryan promotes Deadpool & Wolverine.

The two films are expected to compete with each other in theaters, as It Ends With Us is released on Friday, after the Marvel film premiered in late July.

When Blake was asked on Capital Breakfast on Friday about the competition between her films and her husband’s, she joked: “F*** that film.”

However, the couple still looked as loved up as ever as they were spotted holding hands at the Chiltern Firehouse in London on Thursday.

Blake made an impressive showing in a chic outfit, wearing a brown pleated skirt with a white shirt and a pink sequined blazer.

She completed the look with a striped tie and knee-high cream lace-up boots, which featured spiked heels, while Ryan wore a green and rainbow striped knitted cardigan.

Their date took place after they attended a screening of It Ends With Us at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square.

Ahead of the film’s release, Blake spoke to Capital Breakfast presenters Chris Stark and Kemi Rodgers about what it’s like to release a film at the same time as her husband.

“Oh my god, so much fire, so much fire,” she said. “It’s definitely friendly fire, what’s interesting is I’d love to say, ‘We’re competitive,’ but we really support each other and my goal was to make his film as successful as possible and in whatever way possible and his as well — and that starts in pre-production, production, post and us really showing up for each other and we’re really surrounded by people in our lives who show up for us and that’s the beauty of it.

‘To see Deadpool and Wolverine, whose goliath appears before us […] ‘What a surreal time.’

Regarding Blake’s cameo in the Marvel film as Lady Deadpool, Kemi said, “I mean, it’s beautiful and of course you’re in that movie too.”

“That’s true, so either way, I win the weekend,” Blake replied. “I’m in both. It’s chess, guys. Long game.”

On the differences between the two films, Blake said: “When you watch our film, it seems like a very feminine film. You go in and all the men are into it and loving it, because there are so many men in our lives. We’re all getting in touch with different sides of ourselves.

‘So these two films – one male and one female – but when you go to see them, you think it’s a film in all its facets.’

“Everyone can enjoy it,” Kemi said, before Blake joked, “Just don’t go see Deadpool Wolverine this weekend.”

Kemi laughed and said, “And that’s the message,” before Blake added, “Fuck that movie.”

Blake’s movie promotion comes as she launched a hair care line called Blake Brown Beauty and has been doing so for seven years.

The hair care line will be available exclusively at Target and its website next week.

After rumors surfaced earlier this week that she was launching a new beauty brand, the Gossip Girl alum confirmed her latest business venture.

She wrote the following in an Instagram post: ‘Since I was a child, through adolescence, early adulthood, motherhood, work life, personal life, whenever, wherever, the most recognizable part of me has always been my personality — right? Not my personality? Oh… My hair.

“It’s my longest companion in life. For 36 years and counting. And like any relationship, it’s healthiest when you take care of each other. To really love it, I’ve found a system that’s worked wonders for me, a hack of sorts through decades of working with the very best people in the industry and a ridiculous amount of trial and error.”
