Trump refutes suggestion he’s ‘concerned’ about crowd size at Kamala… claiming he’s drawing crowds as big as MLK

Donald Trump reacted with irritation when asked if he was concerned about the crowd that turned out for Vice President Kamala Harris’ rally.

The former president said the “honeymoon period” would soon be over, as he lamented the media’s refusal to acknowledge the impressive size of his audience.

“Oh, give me a break,” Trump said Thursday during a news conference at his Mar-a-Lago resort, before thanking the reporter for the chance to say how many supporters show up at his rallies.

He insisted that his campaign rallies are attended by up to 30 times more people than those for the vice president, and that if he got a bigger audience, people would say his campaign is “over.”

The news conference comes as Trump’s team continues to criticize Harris for her refusal to speak to the media since she entered the presidential race last month.

Donald Trump was visibly irritated during a press conference at Mar-a-Lago on Thursday when a reporter asked about the size of the crowd at Kamala Harris’s house since her campaign started

In the 18 days since the announcement, Harris has not answered a single media question, given a single interview or held a single press conference, leading to questions about how she will behave off-script.

Meanwhile, Trump believes the media is trying to make Harris a media darling and has deployed his vice presidential nominee, Sen. J.D. Vance, to target her for refusing to talk to reporters.

“Listen, I had 107,000 people in New Jersey, you didn’t report it. I’m so glad you asked, what does she have in your city? 2,000 people? If I ever had 2,000 people, you’d say my campaign is over,”

“It’s unfair — the press,” Trump claimed. “And here’s a great example. I had 25,000 people in Michigan the other day, and 25,000 people we just couldn’t get in. We had 20-25,000 people in Harrisburg, and 20,000 people we couldn’t get in. We had that many — nobody ever mentions that.”

“And if she gets 1,500 people — and I saw it yesterday on ABC, they say, ‘Oh, the crowd was this big’ — I have 10 times 20 times, 30 times the crowd size,” Trump said. “And they never say the crowd was big. That’s why I always say, turn the cameras around.”

“I’m so glad you asked.”

But Trump says the largest crowd he has ever spoken to was the one that gathered in Washington, D.C., on January 6 to hear him speak during the certification of the results of the 2020 presidential election.

The former president claimed his following was as large as that of civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr., but said he was fine with people saying the slain leader had more supporters than he did because he respected him.

“That day it was the largest crowd I’ve ever spoken to, and I can tell you it’s hard to say.

“It’s the largest crowd I’ve ever spoken to, and I’ve spoken to the largest crowds. Nobody’s spoken to a crowd bigger than me,” Trump told reporters at his Florida golf club.

“If you look at Martin Luther King, when he gave his speech, his great speech, and you look at ours, same everything, same number of people, or we had more,” he said. “And they said he had a million people, but I had 25,000 people.”

“My audience, we actually had more people,” he continued. “They said I had 25,000 and he had a million people, and I’m fine with that because I liked Dr. Martin Luther King.”

On Thursday morning, Trump posted on his Truth Social account that Harris “pays” for people to come to her campaign events.
