Olympics Breakfast Briefing with SIR STEVE REDGRAVE: Charley Hull and Georgia Hall tee off at Le Golf National and Matthew Hudson-Smith goes for gold in the 400m as Team GB look to add to their medal haul
It’s the twelfth day of the Olympic Games and another great day of action awaits us.
Team GB continue to shine at the 2024 Olympics, with Josh Kerr outpacing rival Jakob Ingebrigtsen to take silver in the men’s 1500m.
Skateboarder Sky Brown, 13, sensationally won bronze in the women’s park event, while Team GB cyclists Jack Carlin, Ed Lowe and Hamish Turnbull finished second in the men’s team sprint behind the Netherlands.
Lewis Richardson also took bronze in the men’s boxing event on Tuesday after being defeated in the semi-finals by Mexico’s Marco Verde.
Their performances put Team GB in sixth place in the rankings, with a whopping 46 medals: 12 gold, 15 silver and 19 bronze.
But there’s more to come on Wednesday as Sir Steve Redgrave explains where Team GB can collect more medals later today.

After yesterday’s sprint cycling heroics, Team GB’s pursuit crews will be up and running. The men’s team, consisting of Daniel Bingham, Ethan Hayter, Ethan Vernon and Ollie Wood – who won gold at the 2022 World Championships – will be racing later this afternoon.
The women’s team also starts on Wednesday, with Elinor Barker, Josie Knight and Anna Morris, all three of whom won gold at the 2023 World Championships. Their pursuit team will include Jessica Roberts.
Matthew Hudson-Smith will be chasing gold in the men’s 400m final tonight at the Stade de France.
He wants to take revenge for the heartache he suffered when he missed the Tokyo 2020 competition due to injury.
Team GB will also field three of its athletes in the women’s 400m qualifying events, which take place at approximately 7.45pm.
Amber Anning, Laviai Nielson and Victoria Ohuruogu are all competing in the semi-finals of the 400 metres.
On Wednesday it’s time for sailing action again with John Gimson and Anna Burnet for the mixed multihull race.

Michael Beckett is fourth in the men’s dinghy final after it was postponed on Tuesday due to bad weather conditions.
After 13-year-old superstar Sky Brown won bronze in the women’s skateboarding on Tuesday, Andy MacDonald hopes to emulate her performance in the men’s preliminary rounds. The final set begins this afternoon.
