Go inside the wild side of the Paris Games village as Aussie Olympics great lifts the lid on who athletes are hooking up with
With the Paris Olympics halfway through, athletes from around the world are gearing up to complete their events. An Australian sporting legend has confirmed that the antics in the village are wild.
Diver Matthew Mitcham, who won gold in the 10-meter swim at the 2008 Beijing Games, called the scenes a “bizarre utopia where everyone is tall, beautiful and perfect.”
He said many athletes want to leave Paris with memories they will never forget, and that won’t necessarily be related to their sporting activities.
“Athletes just want to fuck athletes,” Mitcham said News Corp.
“The Olympic Village is a smorgasbord. You have all shapes, sizes and ethnicities.”
He added that some participants are keen to connect with celebrity non-participants who have flocked to the French capital to watch the action. He explained: ‘Athletes are just as big star fuckers as anyone else.’
The after-hours development comes after dating apps saw a surge in users around the Olympic Village as thousands of athletes descended on the city in search of a one-night stand.
As the Paris Olympics draw to a close, athletes from around the world are ready to let loose – and Australian sporting legend Matthew Mitcham has confirmed the antics in the village are wild
Mitcham said many athletes will leave Paris with lifelong memories – and it won’t necessarily be from their sporting pursuits (pictured is one of the so-called “anti-sex” cardboard beds used by athletes in the village).
Sites like Tinder, Bumble and Hinge have seen a spike in usage in the St. Denis region, where their competitors are based, with hundreds of new users swiping in search of love.
Mitcham said gay dating app Grindr has put restrictions in place to prevent non-athletes from finding the profiles of Olympic competitors.
“It’s because of thirsty queens in the outside world desperately trying to screw an athlete in the village,” Mitcham said.
As one sprinter told Daily Mail Australia: ‘If you cram 14,500 of the fittest athletes in the world into an Olympic village… you can guess what happens.
‘Before the Games there is not much bedhopping. But once the competition starts, we go crazy.’
The organizers distributed about 200,000 condoms at various locations in the village, 14 for each athlete.
And the free condoms come in blue, red, green and purple – the official colours of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Athletes were also given tubes of lubricant to further simulate their sexual adventures.
Stories of lavish festivities at previous Olympic Games are legendary.
Perhaps the most famous athlete of the modern era, Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt, is said to have celebrated vigorously with three members of the Swedish handball team shortly after winning the 100 metres final at London 2012.
And at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, a Team USA shooter said, “I’ve never seen that level of debauchery in my life.
‘My apartment looked like a brothel in the Olympic Village.

Jamaican superstar Usain Bolt reportedly had a lively party with three members of the Swedish handball team shortly after winning the 100 metres final at the 2012 London Olympics.
‘One morning, the entire 4×100 meter relay team from a Scandinavian-looking country walked out of the house, followed by the American athletes.’
Earlier this month, Australian swimming legend Cate Campbell set pulses racing when she revealed in a radio interview which sports will provide the most exposure to fellow Olympic stars in Paris.
The retired polar star said rowers, water polo players and rugby stars are the athletes most likely to get naughty in the Olympic village, despite the so-called “anti-sex” cardboard beds that have caused controversy at the official accommodation.
In late July, it was revealed that Australian athletes, team members and journalists covering the 2024 Games had received a unique offer from a strip club in Paris.
Secret Square, an adults-only cabaret and restaurant venue, encouraged people involved in the Games to come to its venue by offering free entry.
Located 19 kilometres from the athletes’ village, this daring venue is known for the art of the ‘French striptease’ and is open until 4am.
“During their stay in Paris, athletes, their teams and journalists covering the event will not be charged an entrance fee,” a spokesperson told TMZ.
Those wishing to participate can take advantage of the special offer by showing their Olympic qualifications upon arrival at the club.
