Eve Hewson shrugs off nepo baby criticism as she teases her starring roles opposite George Clooney and Nicole Kidman after ditching her ambition to follow dad Bono into music
Eve Hewson dismisses fake baby criticism and speaks out about her blossoming career.
The 33-year-old actress is the daughter of U2 frontman Bono and businesswoman and activist Ali Hewson. She has played a series of major roles alongside big names such as Nicole Kidman.
And Eve is optimistic about her famous dad and all the fake baby talk, telling Porter Magazine: ‘All you can do is make a joke and move on.’
Eve, who has previously admitted to being a ‘bit of a troublemaker’ in her youth, grew up with her three siblings in Dublin in a creative household ‘full of conversations about film, music, poetry and literature’.
She admitted that acting felt inevitable, insisting that “it was the only thing I was good at.” Still, she originally wanted to follow in her father’s footsteps in music, laughing, “I thought I was going to be Charli XCX.”

Eve, who now lives in LA, has a close bond with her parents and siblings. During the pandemic, the family reunited in Dublin, where they were all living together for the first time in years.
We have a studio at the end of [my parents’] garden, where [we] usually end up writing stupid songs in the middle of the night.
“I was even kicked out of the family band because I was too enthusiastic,” she recalls.
But the One hitmaker didn’t take part in the sessions. When asked if he was part of the band, Eve said: ‘No! He was asleep at 10pm every night.’
The next series Eve will watch is the Netflix series The Perfect Couple.
Nicole Kidman and Liev Schrieber play the ideal spouses, or so it seems, in the murder mystery, based on the 2018 novel of the same name by Elin Hilderbrand.
As they prepare for their son’s lavish wedding at their beautiful Nantucket Island home, their plans are disrupted by a suspicious drowning.
Eve plays Amelia, a free-spirited bride-to-be who marries into a wealthy and prudish family.
