‘Breastfeeding has been one of the most joyful and bonding experiences of my life with Lou, who is still breastfed at 16 months. I don’t know when we will stop, but I know we will figure it out together.’
Willis said her experience was “filled with ease and grace,” but she knows not all women have it so easy.
“Unfortunately, many women lack the necessary support and care, especially during those critical first days in the hospital,” she said.
“There are also so many people and healthcare providers spreading misinformation on social media, which can have a devastating impact on your breastfeeding journey.”
One photo shows Willis emotionally trying to nurse her daughter shortly after her birth, following the recommendation that breastfeeding should be initiated “as soon as possible, within one hour of birth.”
Her mother, Demi Moore, 61, lay next to her, offering support.
