Magic: The Gathering Celebrates 50 Years of D&D with New Secret Lair Drops
The next Secret hideout for Magic: The Gathering is sure to be a critical hit with fans. Starting August 27, collectors will have the chance to purchase five new Secret Lair drops created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Dungeons and DragonsSubsequent drops will cost $29.99, with foil editions of each drop also available for $39.99 each.

The full list of cards that will appear in the upcoming Secret Lair drops is still under wraps. However, it has been revealed that two of the thirstiest companions of Baldurs Gate 3 will make an appearance. Astarion, the half-reluctant vampire, and Karlach, the Tiefling too hot to handle, will each feature prominently in their own sets, alongside the other drops we can look forward to later this month.
These Secret Lair drops mark the third time Wizards of the Coast has brought the popular tabletop RPG to Magic: The Gathering—the first in the set Dungeons & Dragons: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms from 2021, followed by the Commander Legends: The Battle for Baldur’s Gate a year later.
Secret Lair is Wizards of the Coast’s outlet for dedicated Magic: The Gathering collectors. It features ultra-rare variants of specific cards and collaborations with external artists and IPs. Previous Secret Lair franchise collaborations include My Little Pony, Monty Python, Street Fighter, and more.
