Strictly Come Dancing confirm JLS star JB Gill as second celebrity for 2024 series

JB Gill has become the second celebrity confirmed for the 2024 series of Strictly Come Dancing. He announced the news live on Monday’s This Morning.
Earlier in the show blind comedian Chris McCausland is confirmed as the first signature.
JB follows in the footsteps of his bandmate Aston Merrygold, who was eliminated in 10th place in 2017.
The star also has a history with Strictly: in 2012 she won the Christmas special of the BBC One dance programme, dancing the Jive with Ola Jordan.
JB rose to fame as a member of one of the UK’s biggest boy bands, JLS. They have had five number one singles, sold over 10 million records worldwide and won a host of awards since joining the X Factor in 2008.

JB is also a keen and award-winning farmer and was the main presenter of the BAFTA nominated CBeebies television series Down On The Farm, Channel 5 series On The Farm and has contributed to Countryfile and the BBC’s Springwatch.
Since 2017 he has been part of the presenting team for BBC Songs of Praise and has his own TV show Cooking With The Gills on Channel 5.
He is married to Chloe and the couple have two children: son Ace, nine, and daughter Chiara, five.
JB Gill says: ‘I danced in the Strictly Christmas special over ten years ago and LOVED it. When I was asked to join Strictly this year I said yes straight away.’
“I can’t wait to get started and look forward to showing off my new skills to the JLS boys.”

Strictly has been in chaos in recent weeks after a number of allegations of abuse by professionals came to light.
The scandal broke out when actress Amanda Abbington left the show last year, alleging that her partner Giovanni Pernice abused her and later left the show.

Shortly afterwards it was revealed that Graziano Di Prima had been sacked for ‘kicking’ his partner, Love Island star Zara McDermott.
Despite all the accusations, Strictly is going ahead with the 2024 series, with the full line-up to be announced in the coming days.
Earlier this month it was announced that TOWIE star Pete Wicks has signed a contract, despite news that his close friend Zara McDermott was physically and verbally abused by her professional dance partner Graziano Di Prima last year.
Meanwhile, former Arsenal player Paul Merson and DIY SOS star Nick Knowles are also said to have put on their dancing shoes.
Meanwhile, Tom Dean has broken Strictly rules by revealing he has signed up to take part in the upcoming series, ahead of the official announcement.
The 24-year-old swimmer is following in the footsteps of his teammate Adam Peaty and has confirmed that he will be taking part, according to recent reports.
