Supermarket Sweep was a popular grocery game show that ran for several years, from 1965 to 2022.
The goal was to answer questions and pass various tests in order to win the main prize.
A couple who once appeared as ‘business partners’ on Supermarket Sweep have captivated a new generation of fans after revealing they have been together for 41 years.
On Sunday, X user Tom Zohar posted a screenshot of a 1991 episode of Supermarket Sweep, with the caption, “I love watching old episodes of Supermarket Sweep because these two just said they’re “business partners” who “design sets for plays” and I was like, oh, I’m sure.”

“The presenter asked them what was the weirdest set they’d ever had to design and their whole lives flashed before their eyes as they tried to come up with a heterosexual answer,” he joked.

In an adorable update, Tim confirmed that they are indeed a couple and got married in 2008, when gay marriage became legal in California. It was also their 25th anniversary.
“So… a friend told me that Mark and I turned into a meme because we were on Supermarket Sweep decades ago and said we were business partners,” Tim wrote in a comment on a Facebook group.
“They started asking ‘where are they now’ so we posted an update. It’s taken on a life of its own in the thread and the comments. What a world!”
In another comment, Tim mentioned that he and Mark had a business designing and painting backdrops and sets for 27 years.
“A lot has changed since we were on that show, in terms of gay couples and being on TV and stuff like that,” Tim, 64, said. People.
“So it’s not surprising that people are interested in it. It’s actually kind of fun.”

The Chicago couple, who met in Galveston, Texas, were living in California at the time and decided to join the show to earn some money.
“When we were just getting to know California, it was really exciting to see a list of game show candidates in the Los Angeles Times newspaper,” Tim explained.
“It’s different than it is now, I think. And we just said, this would be a fun way to make some money,” he continued.
“That was the first one. And then Mark was actually on Win, Lose or Draw,” he joked.
According to Entertainment weekly, Tim and Mark did well in their episode, but ultimately lost to David and Paula, a married couple who took home $1,264.
