Estelita Huijer: Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns’ model ex is accused of stealing thousands of dollars from a restaurateur and damaging his bookshelf
The former partner of rock star Daniel Johns broke down in tears in court after she was charged with stealing thousands of dollars in cash and destroying a bookshelf.
Fashion designer Estelita Huijer appeared in court on Friday accused of stealing between $5,000 and $15,000 in cash from celebrity restaurateur Andrew Becher.
She is also said to have scribbled on a bookshelf with a permanent marker at his home in Point Piper, in Sydney’s east, on Thursday.
Documents from Waverley District Court show Huijer is accused of damaging property and stealing from a house, as well as breaching a domestic violence order imposed to protect Mr Becher following a separate incident in 2023.
Mr Becher owns the trendy restaurants Franca, Parlar and Armorica in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.
When granting bail at Friday’s hearing, Magistrate Jacqueline Milledge scolded a sobbing Huijer, a report in the Daily telegram.
“If you violate any of these conditions and have contact with him again, your bail will be revoked,” Milledge said.
“This is a very serious breach of the rules and it is an indication that the situation is escalating and that you are becoming increasingly desperate.”
Under the strict terms of her bail, Huijer was not allowed to contact Mr Becher and was allowed to report to the police once a day.

Huijer is also accused of scribbling with permanent marker on a bookshelf while at his Point Piper home on Thursday. When confronted outside Waverley Police Station in Sydney, Huijer said she would vigorously defend the charges
She must also remain at home in Bondi Beach and is not allowed to enter the nearby suburbs of Point Piper, Edgecliff and Kings Cross.
Huijer can’t either use alcohol or drugs unless this is prescribed and the police can monitor compliance.
When approaching from outside Huijer Police Station in Waverley said the charges had been ‘manipulated’ and it would vigorously defend them.
The day before her arrest, Huijer was spotted on social media enjoying a meal at seafood restaurant Harry’s Singapore Chilli Crab in Potts Point with her colleague Imogen Anthony.
Huijer had been in a relationship with Johns for about four years from 2012.

The former Silverchair frontman told News Corp in 2015 that Huijer was “totally” his inspiration, but not in the same way that Yoko Ono was to former Beatle John Lennon.
“If I listen to something ten times a day for three years, you hope the resident doesn’t mind hearing it,” he said.
Mr Becher has been a star in Sydney’s hospitality scene for over a decade.
His upmarket restaurant and bar Pelicano in Double Bay was a magnet for celebrities including Ed Sheeran, Gerard Butler, James Blunt and Mel Gibson, but was forced to close in 2016 due to what Becher described as a “hostile takeover” by the landlord.
Huijer must appear again in court in Downing Centre on August 14.
