Tom Cruise ‘is set to perform EPIC stunt to close 2024 Paris Olympics’ and pass the baton to Los Angeles for the 2028 games

Tom Cruise is said to be pulling off an epic stunt to close out the 2024 Paris Olympics.

For the upcoming closing ceremony, the 62-year-old actor is preparing for an exciting spectacle: he will close the games and pass the flag to Los Angeles for 2028.

At the end of this year’s Games, he will abseil from the top of the Stade de France and land on the stadium field holding the official Olympic flag, TMZ.

The Top Gun star, who was in the stands with many other A-listers to watch the games in Paris, will also be seen in a transition for the upcoming 2028 Summer Games in Los Angeles via a pre-recorded clip he filmed in March.

In the video, shown after his live broadcast, he flies in a plane and flies the flag from France to California, after which he parachutes onto the Hollywood sign.

Cruise filmed the second half of the stunt in Los Angeles in March and expected the trick to be revealed then.

Although he was seen climbing over the board, sources told TMZ that no one noticed his descent from the sky and that no one made the connection between him and an Olympics-related project.

DailyMail.com reported at the time that he was working on an Olympic-themed commercial, in which he was photographed hoisting himself onto the famous landmark as drones flew around him, capturing his ascent.

In March, Cruise was also spotted handing a flag to an athlete.

After Cruise landed on the Hollywood sign, it has now been announced that the short film will show him handing over the banner to other Olympians, including a cyclist, a skateboarder and a volleyball player.

According to the outlet, details of Cruise’s Paris stunt are still being finalized, as the closing ceremony is scheduled for August 11.

For logistical and security reasons, his performance in Paris may be performed by a stunt double.

Insiders also told TMZ that Cruise was the driving force behind the stunt idea.

He has reportedly contacted the International Olympic Committee to perform a series of stunts to bridge the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris and the 2028 Summer Games in Los Angeles.

The city also hosted the Olympic Games in 1932 and 1984.

The XXXIV Olympiad will likely kick off in Los Angeles at a venue built specifically for the 1932 event: the Coliseum.

It will be part of what LA28 organizers are calling the Downtown Sports Park — a collection of venues that includes the Crypto.com Arena, the convention center, LA Football Club Stadium, USC’s Galen Center and the Peacock Theater.

Cruise has previously been involved in Olympic ceremonies.
