Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez to file for DIVORCE after brutal birthday swipe

Jennifer Lopez’s love may not cost anything, but her divorce from Ben Affleck certainly did.

Friends have told DailyMail.com that the 51-year-old ‘Last Duel’ actor and the 55-year-old singer are planning to file for divorce again after a last-ditch attempt at reconciliation in recent weeks failed.

According to multiple sources, the couple’s divorce papers have been “finalized but not yet filed.”

The news follows Affleck’s purchase of a new car $20.5 Million ‘Bachelor Pad’ Mansion in the Pacific Palisades on Wednesday, July 24, Lopez’s 55th birthday.

Friends of Lopez claimed that Affleck’s sudden purchase of a bachelor pad on her birthday had been a “stab in the heart.”

His purchase came just days after the couple put their Beverly Hills mansion up for sale for $68 million.

July 24 also marked the day Lopez closed on the sale of her four-bedroom New York City penthouse for $23 million, People reported.

“They finalized the divorce papers a month ago, but are still waiting for the right time to file,” a source close to the duo said.

‘They will then release a joint statement saying that they love each other very much and that they fought to make it work, but it didn’t work out.

“Honestly, they couldn’t come to a compromise in the end. What they had before is gone and they both accepted it,” another source claimed.

DailyMail.com has contacted representatives for Affleck and Lopez for comment.

The couple was last pictured together on March 30. Since then, they’ve spent the summer apart, with Jennifer living mostly on the East Coast while Ben remains home in Los Angeles.

They even celebrated their second wedding anniversary on July 16 in different cities.

In May, reports emerged about Affleck and Lopez’s marital problems. According to a source close to the couple, Ben had moved into a $100,000 rental home and the couple was looking to sell their “dream home.”

Affleck’s house was just a short drive away from his ex-wife’s Jennifer Garner’s Brentwood home.

The couple was married from 2005 to 2018, and have children together Violet, 18, Fin, 15, and Samuel, 12.

Affleck’s bachelor pad looks more like a multimillion-dollar mansion, with five bedrooms, six bathrooms, a breakfast and dining area, plus a separate family room, study, walk-in closets, media room, powder room and even a guest house.

The house was designed by architect Cliff May.

The penthouse Lopez sold is a four-bedroom, 7.5-bathroom duplex.

Lopez and Affleck, who bought their dream home for $60 million in May 2023, have yet to find any immediate buyers.

Reports of Affleck and Lopez’s marital problems surfaced in May, after the two had not been seen together since late March.

A source told In Touch at the time, “Ben has already moved out and they will likely have to sell the dream home they’ve been looking for for two years.

“They will never stop loving each other, but she can’t control him and he can’t change her. There’s no way it could have lasted.”

He and Garner, 52, were married from 2005 to 2018 and have children together: Violet, 18, Fin, 15, and 12-year-old Samuel.

One of Lopez’s friends from LA told the Daily Mail: ‘If it’s just a matter of putting in the effort, then you better trust that [Jen] will turn it around.

“She’s put her heart and soul into her love story with Ben and she’s not going to give it up without a fight,” the source added. “From what I hear there’s still a lot of love, so there has to be hope.”

Lopez is believed to be staying in New York City, having recently celebrated her birthday on July 24 in the Hamptons.

The couple also spent the Fourth of July weekend apart.

Affleck and Lopez tied the knot on July 16, 2022, at A Little White Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas. They tied the knot again the following month in an even more lavish ceremony in Georgia in 2022.

Following her Bridgerton-themed party, Lopez thanked her 251 million Instagram followers for their messages with a cryptic post.

Lopez admitted she is “vulnerable” and called her fans her “greatest gift.”
