EastEnders is undergoing another major change to the schedule this week.

The BBC soap was disrupted by coverage of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, which was shown all week on BBC One.

It’s not all bad news for EastEnders fans though, as the popular soap has moved to BBC Two and will air at its usual time of 7.30pm Monday to Thursday.

It is not the first time this has happened in recent weeks. EastEnders has also been postponed due to Wimbledon and the Euro 2024 tournament.

Currently, the Olympics dominate the entire BBC One schedule from 6.45am to midnight, with the channel only showing the lunchtime and evening news.

This comes after Natalie Cassidy takes a ‘short break’ from EastEnders, having landed a new job presenting an upcoming series on Channel 4.

The 41-year-old soap star, who played Sonia Fowler on the BBC show for 31 years, is taking a break from her famous role to focus on a brand new project.

Natalie will reportedly present a four-part series called What’s The Big Deal, about popular consumer products.

A source said The sun: ‘Natalie is taking a short break, like many of her fellow actors as they embark on another project.

‘Bosses are always trying to give stars the chance to spread their wings and if they can do that with the often heavy soap schedule, then they will.

‘Natalie is very excited to be taking on the project for Channel 4. This is another string to her bow.’

Viewers will see Natalie talk to industry experts, scientists and families about teeth whitening and ice baths.

She has families test the products and give their opinions on the household items to see if they are really worth the price.

Natalie said: ‘I’m looking forward to asking the questions we all want answered, about must-have products.

‘Like everyone else, I like to try the latest things, but as a busy mom, I’m especially interested in what delivers and what the best deal is.’
