Andy Murray’s career goes on – for one more game at least! British star and partner Dan Evans win doubles THRILLER at Paris Olympics after saving five match points
Andy Murray extended his tennis career by at least one more match after a stunning victory with partner Dan Evans at the Olympic Games.
The Britons seemed certain of elimination in the first round in Paris, having lost the first set 6-2 to their unknown Japanese opponents Kei Nishikori and Taro Daniel. However, they were already 4-2 down in the second set.
But as he has done many times before in his illustrious career, Murray mustered all his heart and courage to fight back and win 7-6 (7-5).
This decided the match with a 10-point tiebreak for the champions, with the British trailing 9-4 and once again looking against the tide.
Still, they managed to save five match points in a row before winning two more, giving Murray the win and ensuring he could play at least one more match before retiring.
