Jennifer Garner gets STUCK on elevator for over an hour and proceeds to lead rendition of ’99 Bottles Of Beer’ during first-ever Comic-Con appearance
Jennifer Garner attended her first-ever Comic-Con this weekend to promote Deadpool & Wolverine, starring Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman.
The 52-year-old actress, who reprised her role as Elektra for the Marvel film nearly two decades ago, needed a superhero to come to her aid when she attended the convention at the Hard Rock Hotel in San Diego on Friday, July 26.
At one point, Garner found herself stuck in the elevator with several people, which she decided to document in a series of videos she posted to Instagram on Saturday.
“Hey guys, we’re stuck in this elevator. I could use a Wolverine. I could use a Deadpool. I could use someone,” Garner, 52, shared in the first of seven Instagram selfie clips.
“Yes, we’re looking for stairs,” she added with a hint of concern in her voice.
“Thank you for having us here. My first Comic-Con,” she said with a bit of sarcasm to close the first clip.
A day after attending a panel at her first-ever Comic-Con for her portrayal of Elektra in Deadpool & Wolverine, Jennifer Garner found herself stuck in an elevator at the Hard Rock San Diego with several others
Crouching down in a corner of the elevator, Garner then told her fans how “hot” it was in the small, enclosed space.
“Don’t cut the blue wire,” she joked to the camera.
Garner later explained that she had heard it was better to be in a broken elevator. She claimed she may have heard that “on an episode of The Office or Brooklyn Nine-Nine.”
After being stuck in the elevator for over 40 minutes, Garner began chanting: 99 bottles of beer. A few minutes later, one of the other people in the elevator was able to call 911.
‘A few minutes later she whispered, ‘We’ve been at this for 45 minutes. We’re calling 911,’ and then turned to the people with their cell phones in their hands, who were reportedly part of her team, except for the elevator operator.
“I thought we were in Vegas,” she whispered when someone said they were in San Diego.
After an hour, the lights in the elevator began to flicker and then came back on. Meanwhile, the co-owner of Once Upon A Farm sang Madonna’s hit single Like A Prayer, her hands folded in prayer.
