Georgia May Foote was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery.

The 33-year-old actress, who played the role of Katy Armstrong on Corrie between 2010 and 2015, has not revealed the reason for her hospital admission.

Georgia, now a nail technician, informed her followers about the health crisis on her company’s Instagram page on Saturday.

In a story, the model wrote: ‘Clients who had appointments last week, I just wanted to let you know that I had last minute surgery today.

‘I don’t know how the recovery will go or how quickly I can return.

Georgia concluded her message to her 7,000+ followers with: ‘I would like to inform you that your appointment may change.’

The star did not reveal anything about her hospital stay on her Instagram page, where she has more than half a million followers.

MailOnline has contacted Georgian representatives for comment.

In Corrie, Georgia’s character Katy was the youngest daughter of Owen Armstrong (Ian Puleston-Davies) and the sister of Izzy Armstrong (Cherylee Houston).

Her main storylines included her relationship with Chesney Brown (Sam Aston), her pregnancy and raising their son Joseph Brown (originally Lucca-Owen Warwick), and her affair with Ryan Connor (Sol Heras).

Despite the showrunners promising her this wouldn’t happen, Katy died in a car accident in 2017.

However, her death occurred off-screen; she was last seen in Coronation Street in 2015.

Meanwhile, Georgia has been married to musician Kris Evans for just over a year.

They celebrated their anniversary on July 15, with Georgia writing on Instagram: ‘365 days of Mr. and Mrs. Evans.
