Julia Roberts reveals that she became ‘instant friends’ with George Clooney more than 20 years ago

Julia Roberts revealed that she became “instant friends” with George Clooney more than 20 years ago as they promoted their new movie on a talk show on Thursday.

54-year-old Oscar-winning actress and Oscar-winner George, 61, while appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live, was asked when they first met.

“The first time we met was for Ocean’s Eleven,” Julia said, referring to the 2001 heist movie.

George said they were already bonding before filming in Las Vegas and Julia interrupted to speak on his behalf.

“Speak for me,” George said.

‘I will. We became friends right away,’ said Julia.

“Yes,” George agreed.

“You know, you just meet people and sometimes you think, I really don’t like that person. I have no reason to like them, I don’t like them and I will never change my mind. And then there are some people,’ Julia said, pointing at George.

“Who are you going with, okay, I’m going to know this person until the end of time. This is a good one,” Julia said to the applause of the Los Angeles studio audience.

George and Julia play exes David Cotton and Georgia Cotton in their new romantic comedy Ticket To Paradise. The Hollywood stars are also executive producers of the film directed by London-born Ol Parker, 53.

Jimmy, 54, wondered how well they really knew each other and asked if they knew each other’s middle names.

“That’s a good question,” George said.

“Timothy,” Julia said correctly.

“Oh yes,” George said before wrongly guessing that Julia’s middle name is Rose.

George also admitted that he had no idea Julia’s birthday would be October 28.

Jimmy told George and Julia that Ticket To Paradise had a “really funny premise.”

“You play a divorced couple, you hate each other. I can imagine that’s fun to play,” Jimmy said.

“Well, I hate him. I think he’s still secretly in love with me, but that’s another thing…” Julia said.

“She spends a lot of time swooning over me,” George intervened.

“He says, God, I love her so much, what can I do to get her back?” Julia said.

‘Couldn’t have enough of me, she kept chasing me often. At one point she just gave in,” George said.

They continued their chatter until George had the last laugh.

“And that’s the movie,” George joked.

“That was really nice to see, by the way,” Jimmy said.

Jimmy also asked Julia if she was exempt from George’s jokes while they were working on Ocean’s Eleven and she said she wasn’t.

“Like shooting fish into a barrel, I’d fall for anything,” Julia said.

George revealed that Julia also fooled the boys by putting cellophane on the toilets.

He then shared that Jimmy has been on his prank team.

“He’ll send me stationery with people’s names. You sent me Brad Pitt’s letterhead. And I send letters to people from Brad Pitt. Horrible letters. I mean, I saw Meryl Streep last night, sent her a letter years ago with a stack of dialect coach CDs,” George said.

“I sent it from Brad. A lot of CDs for Meryl Streep. He said, “This guy helped me with my accent in Troy, I thought he might be able to help you.” Meryl said she’d been avoiding Brad for five years,” George added with a laugh.

George then got permission to tell that Jimmy had once sent him gold-embossed White House stationery.

Bill Clinton’s actual stationery. And I constantly send letters from Bill Clinton to actors about how much he loved their movie. Which I guarantee will hang at home. So if anyone is looking, take the picture away, take it away,” George said, his throat cracking.

Julia further proved how well she knew George when she successfully plucked him while blindfolded after feeling the faces of several men, including Jimmy and his sidekick Guillermo Rodriguez.

She hugged George and flashed her signature smile after correctly identifying him.

Ticket To Paradise is scheduled for release in the US on October 21 through Universal Pictures.
