Man United ‘name their asking price for Jadon Sancho’ amid interest in the winger from French champions PSG

  • Jadon Sancho has been linked with a summer move to French champions PSG
  • Man United have reportedly revealed their asking price for the 24-year-old
  • Sancho has not played a competitive game for United in 11 months

Manchester United have revealed their asking price for winger Jadon Sancho, according to reports, amid speculation the winger could join PSG this summer.

Earlier this week, French media reported that the 24-year-old was close to agreeing a personal deal with the French champions, just days after making his first appearance for United in almost a year in a friendly against Rangers.

United have reportedly reached an agreement over the fee they want to receive if they do indeed let Sancho leave Old Trafford.

According to The mirrorUnited want £40m for Sancho, with the Premier League giants willing to take a hefty loss on the £73m they spent on him in 2021.

Sancho has only recently been welcomed back to United, following a public spat with manager Erik ten Hag last year.

The forward was left out of United’s matchday squad for the game against Arsenal in September, with Ten Hag citing Sancho’s performance in training as the reason for his absence.

Sancho responded to this on social media, claiming that the Dutchman had made him a ‘scapegoat’ and that he had been dropped from the first team after he refused to apologise.

He was sidelined for four months before returning to his old club Borussia Dortmund on loan for the second half of the season.

Sancho impressed in Germany, leading Dortmund to the Champions League final, but lost at Wembley to Real Madrid.

United may hope that Sancho’s performances at Dortmund will be enough to push up his price as they consider selling him despite the England international entering open negotiations with Ten Hag earlier this month.

Sancho returned to training at United after Ten Hag insisted they had drawn a line under the situation.

He said: ‘Manchester United need good players and Jadon is a good player. We’ve drawn the line and we’re moving on. We’ve drawn the line. We’re moving on.’

Sancho spent the second half of last season on loan at Borussia Dortmund and has not featured for United since August last year.

But Sancho’s future remains uncertain after three disappointing years at Old Trafford.

He scored just 12 goals in 82 games for the club and took a break to focus on his mental health during the 2022-23 season.

Sancho is expected to be part of the United squad that travels to the US on Wednesday for a three-match pre-season tour, but it has been 11 months since he last featured for the team.

And he could be gone when the club opens the Premier League season against Fulham on August 16, if PSG show interest and meet United’s asking price.
