Donald Trump-hating prosecutor Letitia James says her ‘singular focus’ is getting Kamala Harris elected while trying to SEIZE ex-president’s properties, including Trump Tower

New York Attorney General Letitia James says her “sole focus” is on getting Kamala Harris elected president, despite the many cases she has under her belt.

James led the prosecution of Donald Trump, who was awarded $454 million in damages in February for inflating the value of his properties.

Trump, who was also given a three-year ban from doing business in New York, is appealing the sentence, saying the fine will accrue interest and James will seek to seize his assets if he doesn’t pay.

Vice President Harris is the presumptive Democratic nominee after President Joe Biden withdrew from the race against Trump on Sunday.

James was quick to endorse Harris and continued her support when he appeared on MSNBC Tuesday night.

Host Joy Reid asked her if she hoped Harris would appoint her as attorney general if she defeated Trump in the Nov. 5 election.

“Right now, my focus is on securing the nomination for Vice President Harris, and ultimately her election,” she responded.

“That’s my sole focus right now: continuing to stand up for the rule of law and representing the citizens of the great state of New York, just as we do every day.

“As you know, today we are in the midst of litigation against the NRA… we will continue that litigation until a verdict is reached and benefits are obtained for the people of… New York.”

James listed a number of areas of focus for her office, but surprisingly, prosecuting criminals was not among them.

“Standing up for the LGBTQ community, standing up for reproductive rights, standing up for our environment, standing up for the elderly, marginalized and vulnerable populations, standing up for what’s right,” she said.

“But that’s what I do every day. And that’s what I’m focused on, besides picking Vice President Kamala Harris.”

James compared herself to Harris, who like her was a district attorney in San Francisco and later attorney general of California.

“When Vice President Harris was attorney general, she was responsible for taking on the banks that were responsible for the mortgage crisis,” she said.

“She defended the Affordable Care Act. She went after big corporations that engaged in deceptive business practices.

‘She went after those who broke the law, both in terms of women and in terms of sexual abuse of women.

“She went after individuals who violated the criminal code, the civil code. She is overqualified to be president of these United States.”

James was also asked about racist attacks by Republicans on Harris that began almost immediately after Biden withdrew, calling her a “DEI hire.”

“She’s a DEI merc, right? She’s a woman. She’s colored. So she must be good,” a man said in a clip Reid played.

James said Republicans were “terrified” of the prospect of running against Harris in the election and that they “expect nothing but racism and sexism.”

“If you don’t have anything else, unfortunately you’re just appealing to the racists among us, the white nationalists among us. That’s it,” she said.

“The reality is that Kamala Harris, Vice President Harris, is qualified. And she is often underestimated, but she is an overachiever.

“And that’s why I supported her wholeheartedly. And it’s a shame that individuals only reinforce racism and sexism, and that’s totally inappropriate. And I won’t honor it with a response.”

James also lashed out at Trump, including about his family history in New York, and called on Americans to vote against him.

“I’ve spoken to a number of people who used to live in his buildings in Brooklyn and were discriminated against by him and his father because they were African-American,” she said.

“And those individuals are telling me what tactics they’ve used. And so it’s really critical that individuals understand the character and the type of individual that Donald Trump represents.

‘And the fact is that he doesn’t discriminate between titles and he is someone who will stoop to any lengths to achieve his goal.

“He’s not concerned about the rule of law, he’s not concerned about the interests of the working class in this country, he’s not concerned about uniting us. It’s about how he can benefit himself and his family.”

Trump has appealed the ruling, but must pay interest accruing at a rate of $1 million every nine days until he pays up. His assets could be seized if he doesn't.

Judge Arthur Engoron found Trump and his sons Eric and Donald Jr. guilty of civil fraud in the case brought by James.

He found that they conspired to inflate the value of real estate on the financial statements of banks and insurers and that they altered Trump’s assets to obtain tax and insurance benefits.

“From 2011 to 2021, Mr. Trump and the Trump Organization knowingly created more than 200 false and misleading asset valuations on his annual statements of financial position to defraud financial institutions,” James’ office explained in 2022.

James has vowed to seize Trump’s assets if he doesn’t pay the massive settlement, which will increase by $87,502 every day until he pays.
