Australian woman ‘gang raped by five men’ in Paris just days before the Olympics
An Australian woman has reportedly been the victim of a gang rape in Paris, just days before the Olympic Games.
According to French mediaThe 25-year-old woman told police she had been raped by five men and had taken refuge in a kebab shop a few metres from the Moulin Rouge around 5pm on Saturday night.
She was found with her dress on ‘backwards’ and partially torn off.
The owners of the kebab shop immediately called for help and she was taken to Bichat Hospital.
The woman told police she had been raped by five people earlier that night, but she could not provide details about the location or circumstances of the attack.

The Paris Public Prosecutor’s Office announced that an investigation into the incident is underway.
“The investigation into the allegation of gang rape, which is believed to have taken place during the night of July 19 to 20, has been entrusted to the 2nd judicial police district,” the Paris public prosecutor’s office said.
The young woman was originally scheduled to return to Australia this weekend.
The police union Alliance Paris said investigators “will do everything they can to identify the individuals as quickly as possible and bring them to justice”.
The police hope this will prevent hysteria among the tourists who will flock to Paris in the summer for the Olympic Games.
