A new Arcane teaser gives us a sneak peek at a stealth mission
The second and final season of Arcanethe animated League of Legends adaptation, is expected to be released in November. The first substantial trailer was released last month and focused on the conflict between Vi, Caitlyn and Jinx. On Sunday, Netflix dropped a new teaser focused on Ekko and Heimerdinger.
Ekko is the leader of the Firelights, a street gang in Zaun and a resistance group against the Piltover Enforcers. He encountered Heimerdinger, the disgraced former head of the Piltover Council, during the Yordle’s time of need. The two are now working together. The teaser shows them infiltrating a Council property. Ekko points out that Heimerdinger technically owns the property, but given the tense political situation, they don’t seem willing to risk a confrontation with the Enforcers.
There are a lot of moving parts in Arcane‘s second season. The status of the Council is unknown following Jinx’s attack on Piltover, but they are presumed dead. A civil war is brewing between the cities of Zaun and Piltover, and Noxus’ forces are called into action at the request of Mel’s mother, the warlord Ambessa Medarda.
Ekko and Heimerdinger may not be on the front lines of that war, but it’s clear that they have their own roles to play in the coming conflict. Ekko has a lot of history with both Vi and Jinx, and we’ll have to see how that dynamic plays out. There’s also still the threat of a rampaging werewolf-like creature lurking in the shadows.
Arcane Season 2 is scheduled for November.
