Who is Xander Schauffele’s wife Maya? Meet the US golf star’s college sweetheart as she watches him seal his second major win at The Open
Xander Schauffele has painfully missed multiple majors. Now he has two in the same season – and his wife Maya was there for him at both.
The American won his second major of his career – and the one for 2024 – by holding off Justin Rose on Sunday afternoon at the 152nd Open Championship at Royal Troon.
As the 30-year-old walked off the 18th green, ready to be crowned golf champion of the year, his wife Maya was on hand to embrace him, along with his mother and father.
She emotionally hugged her husband with tears of pride in her eyes after seeing him triumph in Troon.

How long has she been with Schauffele?
Schauffele has been married to his wife Maya since 2021, but the couple have known each other for much longer.
Maya met Xander in 2014 at college and the two decided to tie the knot in 2021 at their Las Vegas home.
According to Golf weekThe couple met while he was playing golf at SDSU with Maya, a student near UC-San Diego.
Maya has been by her husband’s side throughout his career. She was seen arm-in-arm with him in Louisville after his PGA Championship win and embraced him again as he walked off the 18th green at Royal Troon on Sunday.
Last year she also traveled with him to the Ryder Cup in Rome.

Both dogs attended their wedding. Chewie wore a cute faux tuxedo and Momo looked adorable in a white bow tie.
What are his greatest achievements?
Schauffele’s PGA Championship was his biggest achievement until last weekend’s victory in Troon. It was the first major victory in the golfer’s career.
However, he has come close several times: he finished in the top five of a major tournament six times, including second place at the Masters and the British Open respectively.
Schauffele has eight PGA Tour victories to his name, including the 2017 Tour Championship and the 2022 Scottish Open.
In 2021, he also won the Ryder Cup with Team USA and that same year he won an Olympic gold medal in the individual event.
