Body of 35-year-old British man found in Spanish resort as police investigate ‘violent death’

The body of a British man has been found at a Spanish holiday resort, with police investigating the ‘violent death’.

The body of the 35-year-old was found in the holiday destination of Mojacar, north of Almeria.

The alarm was raised last night around 11pm after the gruesome discovery.

He was found at Vantanicas Beach, a wide sandy beach described as ‘beautiful’ by many visitors on sites such as Tripadvisor.

Blood was reportedly found on the wall and floor of the unknown location where the body was found.

The body of the unnamed Briton is believed to have been undiscovered for several hours.

Police sources said this morning that “all lines of enquiry” were being pursued, including the possibility that the man’s death was an accident.

One of them said: ‘The autopsy is crucial here.

‘All lines of investigation are still open and researchers are not assuming anything at this time.’

Guardia Civil detectives report to the court on duty in the nearby town of Vera, which has launched an ongoing investigation.
