Bigger than the Titanic! New billionaire-friendly superyacht Ulyssia will have 132 five-star-hotel standard luxury apartments, theatre, library, swimming pools and two helicopters

“For a life without limits,” promise the builders of the superyacht “Ulyssia,” a planned 320-meter-long ship, larger than the Titanic, that, according to the owners, “will transform our concept of discovery and home.”

The Ulyssia is still four years away from completion, but new photos offer a unique glimpse into the luxurious life on board, including 132 luxury apartments that “meet the standards of a five-star hotel”, a theatre, a library, several swimming pools and stunning panoramic underwater windows.

While it’s not yet known exactly how much a stay on board will cost, details have emerged about the kind of lifestyle guests can expect. In addition to the essential amenities – restaurants, a medical centre, an XXL wine cellar – residents can also bring home comforts on board by customising their rooms to their own tastes.

Residents looking to escape the hustle and bustle of modern life can expect to be able to take out a 50-year lease to stay on the ship in rooms ranging from 1,200 to 1,000 square feet. Those still living on land will have access to two helicopters on board to ferry guests back and forth.

The megayacht is owned by Swiss company Ulyssia Residence AG and is the brainchild of Espen Øino, a veteran Norwegian yacht designer based in Monaco who has a track record of designing lavish yachts with bespoke details for the world’s wealthiest people.

The superyacht is presented as a base for some of the world’s most fortunate people, a place to relax after a busy day of adventures in strange wonders.

Alain Gruber, CEO of Ulyssia Residences AG, said: ‘The concept behind Ulyssia is to travel the world – but from your own home.

‘You can go out every day and discover new destinations around the world, but in the evening you can simply return to your family in your own four walls.’

The homes on board are offered in configurations ranging from one to six bedrooms and feature open plan kitchens, terraces and reception areas, with all the comforts of a modern home.

Residents can also accommodate guests in one of 22 slightly smaller guest apartments, which also provide a space for lecturers and experts to stay when they visit, according to BOOT Internationala guide for the superyacht enthusiast.

FM Architecture and eight other top designers were brought in to adapt the interior to the individual tastes of the residents.

The company has an impressive portfolio of works on boats, houses, towers and hotels in various classical and modern styles.

To meet everyone’s needs, the yacht features a range of permanent entertainment facilities, including a two-level theatre, a library and several conference rooms.

Restaurants will welcome ‘world-renowned as well as emerging chefs’, but residents will also have access to a supermarket stocked with ‘local produce from the piers’ if they fancy a quiet moment.

In addition to their practical use, the helicopters can also be used to facilitate ‘epic adventures’ such as heli-skiing.

‘[Every resident] has something in common. They want to travel, they are curious, they are adventurous,’ Mr. Gruber said.

But then they divide into subgroups.

“You have your foodies, you have your divers, you have your sailors, you have your art collectors, people who are interested in reading and book clubs – all those subcommittees will start to form on board and create a real sense of community.”

For a longer lifespan, the yacht will be powered by methanol and other biofuels, it said. Imageso that the ship can continue to sail for decades without becoming too much of a burden on the environment.

Solar panels also ensure that natural resources are used to drastically reduce emissions from this ship of the future.

Ownership will be on a shared ownership basis, with residents owning the vessel in perpetuity and in proportion to the square metres, BOAT International reports.
