It came after MailOnline revealed that Maya and Stormzy had split over disagreements over when they would start a family.
The ITV2 star and the BRIT Award winner announced in a joint statement on Instagram that they have “recently decided to call it quits.”
Sources told MailOnline the couple had been arguing about their lifestyle, with Stormzy being more of a homebody.
Maya, who is at the height of her powers as the face of luxury fashion brand Dolce & Gabbana, ambassador for Rimmel London and in demand by streaming giant Netflix, is currently focusing mainly on her career.
A source close to the couple revealed: ‘Maya and Stormzy have very different views on their future.
‘Stormzy wanted to settle down, while Maya is enjoying her career. She is ambitious and wants to prioritize achieving everything she can.

“She also loves to travel and party, but at 29 she’s not ready for the next chapter.”
It comes after Maya and Stormzy performed separately at Wimbledon last week, with the rapper visiting the VIP suite of Evian’s Mountain of Youth solo.
Meanwhile, Maya partied into the early hours at the popular Chiltern Firehouse.
They were last seen together, hand in hand, on July 5 at the Formula 1 Grand Prix at Silverstone, where Stormzy made a headline appearance.
The couple shared a statement announcing their split, writing, “We laughed as we wrote this because we never, ever, in a million years thought we would be the couple announcing a split,
“But for the sake of clarity and, more importantly, to give us both the space and grace we need to navigate the next part of our lives in peace, we thought it might be best to…
‘We fell madly in love in 2014, broke up in 2019 and then spent five years trying to rebuild our lives.
‘We have decided to try it for the last time in August 2023. We have done everything we can to make it work for the past year. But recently we have decided to stop.
“We were 21 and 20 when we first met, both at the beginning of our careers. We spent five years together and then five years apart growing apart. So this last attempt required a lot of figuring out, relearning and unlearning.
We tried, but it didn’t work, and that’s okay.
‘We are still incredibly happy together, we still care about and respect each other, we are still grateful for the time we spent together and we are still friends and always will be (so if you see us catching up at The Brits or something, don’t make a fuss, we’re real mates!)
“We kindly ask for the grace to continue this together and not worry about it (we very much doubt this will work, but we kindly ask anyway).”
“I love you all and thank you for all the love you have given us, it has been beautiful,” they concluded the message, before signing it off as “Mike and MJ.”

When the couple split in 2019, the rapper publicly stated that he had “never loved anyone like I loved her.” Fans stated that they had always hoped the couple would rekindle their love for each other.
Maya has previously opened up about how the couple started their romance and how “nobody cared,” which didn’t make them feel like a celebrity couple.
She said: ‘I never felt like a celebrity couple. Everyone else did. We just had a normal relationship. And then everyone was just talking about it.
“We met when we were 20, before anyone cared about us. So back then it was just a normal relationship. I always said it was a normal relationship, actually, but people wanted to look at it more and talk about it more.”
The couple first went public with their romance in 2016, after initially keeping their relationship a secret. They have never made a secret of their devotion to each other.
They quickly evolved from a ‘non-celebrity couple’ to a red carpet superstar duo with a fan base and a glittering career.
They were regularly photographed at posh events, appeared on their respective social media accounts and even shared a house together in south-west London.
Stormzy said he planned to marry Maya, telling the Sunday Mirror in February 2018: ‘I’m still so young but I want to propose to her, it’s going to happen and I’m going to do it right. She’s so sick, she’s the best.’
But in 2019, Maya’s representatives confirmed that the couple was no more.
The presenter and the rapper confirmed that their split is ‘final’, after they previously split after a five-year relationship in 2019 and got back together in August last year (pictured in June)
In an interview with Louis Theroux, the rapper admitted he made mistakes during their four-year relationship, but said he has grown since then.
He explained: ‘My breakup, that was probably the biggest catalyst for growth as a man. It was like, OK, you made a mistake and you’re losing someone you loved, someone you cared about, someone special to you.
“That’s probably the biggest loss a man can have, right? Short of someone dying, that’s the biggest loss you can have.”
In 2023, Maya said of the reactions to her romance with Stormzy: ‘None of us really knew how important it was to a certain group of people that we were together.
“We were both super ambitious. We both came from similar upbringings and we were both just little workers who made something good of ourselves.”
In May 2021, rumors swirled that Maya had found a new love in her life in the form of Ben Simmons, Kendall Jenner’s former gym buddy.
The rumors started when she posted a photo of herself on Instagram in a kitchen that was said to be Ben’s, and she was also said to be wearing shorts, the same pants he had previously been photographed in.
Ben proposed to Maya at Christmas that same year, after a whirlwind romance developed after she spent the holidays at his £3.7million mansion in New Jersey.
However, eight months later, love was lost again when Maya and Ben broke up.
The British presenter and the basketball star are said to have struggled with their busy schedules and the fact that they had to keep a large distance from each other, as Ben lives in Brooklyn, New York, while Maya lives in London.
In 2023, Maya had to face rumors that she was dating another superstar: Leonardo DiCaprio.
Insiders claimed the duo spent time together in New York, where they were both on work trips, and were also photographed leaving Le Piaf club in Paris with friends.
Insiders claimed: ‘They’ve both recently come out of long-term relationships, so they’re not rushing into anything. They’re having fun and seeing how it goes.’
Despite the claims, Leo denied the string of rumours after a source told The Sun that the star – who was also linked to Gigi Hadid at the time – and Maya were “in regular contact and on a string of dates”.
The TV star confirmed in an Instagram statement on Wednesday that the couple had called it quits again, admitting they had been trying to “make it work” for a year
In August, Maya confirmed that her relationship with Stormzy had resumed, four years after their first split.
The couple left hand-in-hand for the Greek island of Hydra, their first public appearance together since rumors of a romantic reconciliation surfaced weeks earlier.
It was claimed that Stormzy’s mother, Abigail Owuo, was the matchmaker who ‘motivated him to make amends with Maya’.
A source told The Sun at the time: ‘Stormzy is very open about his desire to settle down and have children one day, and he knows Maya is “The One”.’
