- Family and friends now say she had a stalker who was texting her
An alleged stalker sent a 25-year-old fitness fanatic an ominous message days before she disappeared.
Doris Maricela Aguilar was reported missing on the evening of July 1, when she left work and did not return to her home in Phoenix, Arizona, Fox 10 reports.
A week later, her car was found abandoned. A private investigator hired by her family to track her down said her cell phone had been ringing in Houston, Texas since then.
Family and friends now worry she has been taken by her alleged stalker, a former colleague who sent her harassing messages.

The alleged stalker would show up in the parking lot of the gym Aguilar attended and force her to change gyms three times, private investigator Steve Fischer told the network.
Just days before Aguilar mysteriously disappeared on June 27, the alleged stalker appeared to indicate that he knew which facility she was attending at the time.
He wrote on a Facebook page with a gun as his profile picture: ‘I want my membership back… [see] “I hope you get there soon,” Fox 10 reports.
On June 27, just days before Aguilar mysteriously disappeared, an alleged stalker posted on a Facebook page with a gun as his profile picture that he was getting his membership back — presumably to the gym Aguilar frequented.
Aguilar had previously expressed concerns about the alleged stalker, friends and family say.
They said that after the unknown stalker began sending her harassing messages, Aguilar reported him to the company where they worked, after which he was fired.
But he reportedly kept popping into Aguilar’s life and messaging her through the ominous Facebook account.
According to Fox 10, besides the profile picture of the gun, there was only another profile picture of an AR-15 in the back of a car.
“I believe that guy took her,” said Aguilar’s friend, David Lara.
“I really hope she’s still in Arizona and they haven’t taken her somewhere else.”
Her family has revealed that she had a stalker who followed her to different gyms
Aguilar’s car was eventually found abandoned on July 8 in a shopping center near the intersection of Interstate 17 and Bethany Home Road.
The car was unlocked and her bag and wallet were full of money inside.
Aguilar – whose friends and family describe her as a gym-goer, health nut and hard worker – also left behind her passport and clothes, according to Univision.
She had even prepared the week’s worth of meals just one day before she disappeared, her family says. She has no history of mental health issues, drug abuse or running away.
Aguilar’s mother says she is still waiting for news of her daughter’s whereabouts.
“I feel like a scared and worried mother because I need to know where my daughter is,” she pleaded in Spanish. “I ask all of you from the bottom of my heart to help me find Maricela safe and sound.”

Fischer says he is now requesting surveillance footage from the shopping center where her car was found and examining her cellphone usage records.
He indicated that he also contacted the Houston police for assistance.
Meanwhile, Phoenix police say they have completed their investigation into Aguilar’s car and are awaiting results as officers pursue all possible leads.
