Adele makes a career announcement as she prepares to bid farewell to her Las Vegas residency after two years
Adele made an unexpected announcement to her fans this week as she prepares to say goodbye to her Las Vegas residency after two years of performing.
The 36-year-old singer indicated that she does not want to make any new material for the time being and that she wants to take a break after her series of residencies.
Adele recently took a break from her June residency, but the star will now perform eight shows at a specially designed venue in Munich.
The series of performances starts on August 2 and lasts until August 24.
However, Adele confirmed ahead of the shows that she has “no plans” to make new music after the residency ends.

She told German Outlet ZDF: ‘I have no plans for new music at all.’
“I want to have a big break after this and I think I want to do other creative things. Just for a while.”
When Adele previously spoke about her mini-residency, she admitted it was “a bit random, but still fantastic.”
She added: ‘I can’t think of a better way to spend my summer and end this wonderful phase of my life and career with shows closer to home during such an exciting summer.’
The eight concerts in Munich will take place outdoors, in an open-air venue specially created for the shows with a capacity of 80,000 people.
The Someone Like You hitmaker will return to Las Vegas in October until her residency ends in November.
It is also reported that the singer is planning to move back to the UK once her residency is over.

Adele moved to Los Angeles in 2016 and previously said she did so to get more bang for her buck.
But eight years later, and with no sign of completing the renovation of her Rocky mansion anytime soon, has Adele given up on the American dream for now?
Adele’s assistant Rose Moon moved back to the UK a few weeks ago and is currently organising the singer’s return, The sun reported on Thursday.
A source said of the megastar’s return to London: ‘It’s all part of a wider return home and she’s said she’ll be back once her shows in Las Vegas finish in November.’
‘Rose has already moved back to the UK and Adele will follow her. Just like football, it looks like Adele is coming home.’
The source also claimed that Adele is “British through and through,” which has inspired her to return to her roots.
